Left memory are two sons, Daniel Russell and wife Virginia of Cliffside, NC and Bruce Russell and wife Karen of Pittsburgh, PA; granddaughters Kimberly McGinnis of Cliffside and Julie Morse of Ballston Lake, NY; 4 great grand-children; sis- ter, Margaret Grossman; sister-in-law Harriet Molinski and husband Bernard, and multiple nieces and nephews. She was a native of Columbia County, NY and retired from IBM in Boca Raton, FL. to cherish her She was the daugh- ter of the late William Spickerman and Katherine Spickerman Brooke, and was preced- ed in death by her loving husband Paul Russell and brot her Bill Spickerman. Crowe's serving the family. MARY Mary Suthell Walker, 90, of Spindale, passed away SUTHELL WALKER Mortuary is Baptist State Convention. Suthell was a member of Spencer Baptist Church, where she was a mem- ber of the WMU and the Spencer Kitchen Band. Suthell is survived by her brother, John H. Walker of Rutherfordton, and a number of cousins. Memorial Services were held at Spencer Baptist Church with Rev. Billy E. Vaughn officiat- ing. Crowe's Mortuary is serving the family. MATHESON Nellie Ruth Matheson passed away on October 27, 2012. NELLIE RUTH who would provide Ruth with three great-grand- children. Granddaughter, Larissa would provide her with one more. Ruth and Bill loved their grandchil- dren and helped raise each and every one of them, largely on baked macaroni and cheese, fried egg sandwiches, John Wayne movies, fried chicken and nightly mandatory Wheel of For- tune. Though Ruth never believed man landed on the moon, she devout- ly believed in God and her savior, Jesus Christ. Ruth read her bible each and every single night, often sharing passages with her grandchildren. Her favorite passage was Psalm 23. h - Wednesday, October 31, 2012. A native of Ruther- ford County, she was the daughter of the late Hobert and Dolly Flynn Walker. Suthell was a missionary for the Baptist State Convention, serving on several mission fields. Ruth was born on August 14th, 1926 and in 1947, married Bill Matheson, a man who served our country in the army. Ruth and Bill lived a life that most could only dream of. With four children in tow, they traveled the United States and Mexico and lived in over 15 states. Of all of Bill and Ruth's achievements, their greatest was their children - Sandy, Tere- sa, Sharon and the late Junior Matheson. Teresa would provide Ruth with three grandchildren - Jor- dan, Meghan and the late Patrick Morris, a gentle soul who, along with Bill and Junior, is sure- ly showing Ruth around Heaven. Sandy gave birth to Ruth's grandson Brian, who followed in Bill's footsteps and joined the army immediately after graduating high school. She is survived by grandchil- dren SFC Brian Watson and wife Kristie, Laris- sa Foster and husband Todd, Jordan Morris and Meghan Graham Morris. Ruth is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Sydni, Zachary, Allison and Travis. Ruth will live in each of our hearts for- ever. Crowe's Mortuary is serving the family. Sara Ellen Lauver age 100 passed away on November 3, 2012. A native of York Coun- ty, Sara was a homemak- er, a member of Advent SARA ELLEN LAUVER Lutheran Church and a member of Masonic East- ern Star for over 50 years. Sara was a resident of Restwell Nursing Home for three years where she was well cared for by the staff. Sara lived in Rutherfordton with her son A. Wayne Lauver and daughter in law Karen M. Lauver for 17 years. Sara was born on October 19, 2012 in Pennsylvania on a 25 acre farm near Bow- mansdale, Pennsylvania. She was the youngest of eight children born to John and Jennie Fishel. She was preceded in death by her first husband John F. Cocklin and her second husband Arthur J. Lauver and their infant daughter Phyllis. Her son James R. Cocklin died last year. She is also sur- vived by his widow Sarah E. Cocklin and grandson Brian K. Cocklin. Lutherran Church and a me m mber of Masonic East- ern Star for over 50 years Also surviving are sons A. Wayne Lauver (wife Karen) and Barry L Lauver. She leaves behind grandchildren Adrienne Lauver Evans of Cary, NC, Alan W. Lau- ver of Columbus, Ohio and Amanda M. Lauver of Rutherfordton, NC. Great grandchildren are Corina M. Keever of Spindale, NC and Orianne W. Lau- ver of Rutherfordton, NC. Sara is now at peace and her ashes will be returned to the family plot in Penn- sylvania. SPENCER Austin Lee Colt Spen- cer, of Lawn- dale, infant AUSTIN LEE COLT son of Michael Spencer and Kelly Godfrey Sisk, passed away Friday, October 26, 2012. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Thomas Michael Spencer and great grandfather, Kermit Godfrey. In addition to his par- ents, he is survived by maternal grandparents, Johnny and Martha Man- uel of Shiloh and mater- nal grandfather, Terry Godfrey of Forest City; paternal grandmother, Denise Spencer of Spar- tanburg; great grand- parents, Joe and Janet Fleming of Pacolet, SC and great grandmother, Betty Godfrey of Forest City. DOLORES JEAN BISHOP Dolores Jean Bishop 78, of Forest City, passed away Friday, November 2, 2012. A native of Camden County New Jersey, she was born on March 13, 1934, a daughter of the late C. Edward Schafer and Viola McIlhany. She was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family and her friends. She was preceded in death by her mother and father. She is survived by her husband, Henry (Reds) Bishop, two sis- ters Ruth Bates, and Selma Ivory both of New Jersey, two daughters Linda Hopkins of Forest City, and Mary Phillips of Marietta Georgia, eleven grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
