Mr. Crook served our country in World War II, where he received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was pre- ceded in death by his wife, Lela Moore Crook; parents, John Crook Sr. and Gertrude Isabell Crook; a half-sister, Margaret Black; and his brother, James Crook. Mr. Crook is survived by two sons, Mike and Brian Crook, both of Blacksburg, SC; two daughters, Sheila Tate of Mooresboro, NC and Janet Chambers of Earl, NC; and three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
