Ray Charles' voice propelled the tune across radio sta- tions around the world. The Don Gibson Theatre has always had a knack for hosting artists from a variety of styles that hold true to Don Gibson's caliber of songwriting and performance. The Holmes Brothers is a trio consisting of guitar player/vocalist, Wendell Holmes, bassist/vocalist, Sherman Holmes, and drummer/vocalist, Popsy Dixon. Inspired by sounds from rhythm and blues, soul, and gospel, this Christchurch, Virginia based group started in 1979. Since then, they have impressed audiences with pristine vocal harmonies and moving instrumentation. Over the years the Holmes Brothers have toured as the backing band for plenty of esteemed artist such as John Lee Hooker and Joan Osborne. Obviously, The Holmes Brothers are the cream of the crop when it comes to musicians. When artists like Van Morrison and Peter Gabriel choose this group to J.
