Submit- ted Photo By Andy Heuring A Washington man was arrested in Petersburg on a preliminary charge of oper- ating a vehicle while intox- icated (refusal) late Friday night. Ryan Downs, 30, of 8545 N. SR57, Washington was stopped by Pike Coun- ty Deputy Paul Collier at 11:49 p.m. Friday on High- way 57 after his license plate was partially concealed by a trailer hitch. Deputy Collier said when he spoke with Downs he no- ticed rapid, slurred speech and watery eyes. He said Downs failed field sobriety tests but tested neg- ative for alcohol. Downs re- fused a blood test, which is an automatic offense. According to Deputy Col- lier's report, Downs said he had "done a line of meth" earlier in the day. By Andy Heuring A rural Winslow woman was arrested on preliminary charges of public intoxica- tion and disorderly conduct after police were called to the Bob Inn in Winslow. Carrie Tooley, 44, of 1554 S. CR700 E, Winslow was ar- rested by Pike County Depu- ty Sheriff Buck Seger. Seger said he and Depu- ty Mike Willis responded to a call for police after a wom- an was threatening the bar- tender and acting disorder- ly. Deputy Seger said while they were on the way a call- er told central dispatch the woman had left the bar, but then returned. Police arrived and saw Tooley leaving the bar. When they talked with her, Seger's report stated Tool- ey began cursing loudly and told them she went there to drink and "call out" the bar- tender, whom she accused of having relations with her boyfriend. Deputy Seger's report states they repeatedly asked Tooley to stop yelling and cursing, but she refused. They said she also was hav- ing trouble siting without falling. She also failed a portable breath test for alcohol with a result more than double the legal limit for driving in In- diana. She was taken into cus- tody and transported to the Pike County Jail. Woman arrested after quarrel with Bob Inn bartender By Andy Heuring A Petersburg man was ar- rested on Sunday night af- ter police responded to a re- port of him threating anoth- er man with a pistol at a trail- er court on north Main St. in Petersburg. Larry L. Harris, 45, of 2105 E. Main St., Peters- burg, was arrested by Pe- tersburg Police Cpl. Scott Wright. According to a probable cause affidavit, at about 9 p.m., Harris displayed a look-a-like semi-automatic pistol and walked towards Jeff Bradfield. Witnesses at the scene told Cpl. Wright that Harris pulled the slide of the look-a-like pistol back, cocking it, while in a heated discussion with Harris. Ac- cording to Wright, Harris had previously threatened Bradfield. On a charging informa- tion sheet for Level 6 felo- nies of intimidation and res- idential entry, it states Har- ris threatened Bradfield be- cause Bradfield was dating Harris' ex-girlfriend. Harris was taken into cus- tody and the gun was found to not be real even though it looked authentic. Accord- ing to the probable cause af- fidavit, Harris admitted us- ing the look-a-like gun to threaten Bradfield. Concealed taillight leads to OVWI arrest Friday Harris arrested after threatening man with his pistol HOUSING Continued from page 1 and acting as a region. Ra- tio has never actually seen this before, but they like it and they're working with us on it." Pike County's housing study should be finished in July, and it's already an- swered some questions. But, Willis said, "there's still a lot of unknowns at this point."
