South Spencer, which fin- ished the regular season at 22-5, placed first in the PAC with a conference record of 7- 1. Heritage Hills (12-13), For- est Park (10 -10) and South- ridge (8 -12) tied for third in the PAC with conference re- cords of 5 -3. Gibson Southern, which finished the regular season at 9 -20 placed fifth in the PAC with a conference re- cord of 4-4; Tell City, which finished the regular season at 12-9, placed sixth in the PAC with a conference records of 3-4; North Posey, which fin- ished the regular season 8 - 16, placed seventh in the PAC with a conference record of 2-5; and Pike Central, which finished the regular season at 12-12, and Tecumseh, which finished the regular season at 10 -14, tied for eighth in the PAC with conference records of 2-6. SPORTS BRIEFS Dubois County Bombers announce youth skills camp dates The Dubois County Bombers have announced the dates of their upcom- ing youth skills camps. The Bombers' coach- ing staff and players will provide valuable baseball instruction to area youth from 6 to 15 years of age at camps in Huntingburg and Jasper. The first camp will take place June 26 -28 at League Stadium in Hunt- ingburg. The second camp will take place Ju- ly 10 -12 at the JYSC Little League Fields in Jasper. Each camp will be di- vided into two sessions by age, with ages 6 -9 years reporting from 9 a.m.-10 :30 a.m. daily and ages 10 -15 years report- ing from 10 :30 a.m. to noon daily. All camps cover throw- ing progression/pitching, hitting drills/bunting/ base running, and fielding position by position, plus a game to end the camp with a whole lot of fun. The cost of each three- day camp is $ 60 per par- ticipant, which includes – in addition to the great baseball instruction – a camp t-shirt and a ticket to a Bombers baseball game. Registration forms are available on the Bombers website at www.dcbomb- ers.com, by e-mailing dc- bombers@psci.net or by calling the Bombers of- fice at 812-683-3700. Reg- istration forms were due by June 10 to guarantee a t-shirt. However, enroll- ment will be taken after that date as well as at the door. Please arrive early for registration. VU men's basketball offering summer shootout, skills camps The Vincennes Uni- versity men's basketball team will be offering its shootout camp for mid- dle school aged campers (grades 6 -8) on Thursday, June 8; session one for varsity and junior varsity athletes on Friday, June 9; and session two for varsi- ty and junior varsity ath- letes on Saturday, June 10. The shootouts will be held in the Vincennes Uni- versity P.E. Complex. Cost for attendance is $200 for one team, $ 375 for two teams and a deposit of $50 is required. The camp will include four games during which players will scrimmage against other schools from all over the Midwest, as well as sharp- en their skills heading in- to the season. The Trailblazers will al- so be offering an individ- ual skills camp for boys June 16 -June 18. The cost for the boy's camp is $175 for parents planning for their child to commute back and forth or $215 if the camper plans to stay in the dorms and eat meals at the Tecumseh Dining Center. A $50 de- posit is required to attend the boys camp. Registration will be held at the P.E. Complex from 8:30 a.m.-9:30 a.m. on Friday, June 16, at the front entrance. Campers that will be staying over- night will also receive dorm assignments at that time. Finally, an offensive skills camp for boys and girls in 3rd through 10th grades will be offered Ju- ly 6 -8. The cost is $110, which includes meals pro- vided at the Tecumseh Dining Center on Wednes- day, July 6, and Thursday, July 7, along with a camp t- shirt. Campers are asked to register between 8:30 a.m.-9 a.m. on Wednesdy, July 6, at the front of the VU P.E. Complex. Croak, who was named to the PAC All-Conference Team as a utility player, bat- ted .357 against PAC oppo- nents, collecting 10 hits – in- cluding two doubles – in 28 at-bats. She scored five runs and drove in 13. Overall, Croak batted .400 with 30 hits – including six doubles and one home run – in 75 at-bats. In addition, she scored 12 runs and drove in 26. Sorgius, who received honorable mention acco- lades as a pitcher, went 6 -2 with a 2.43 earned run av- erage against PAC oppo- nents, allowing 25 runs – 17 of which were earned – on 51 hits while walking 10 and striking out 17 in 49 innings. Sorgius pitched seven complete games in PAC com- petition, including shutout wins over Southridge (11- 0) and North Posey (13-0). Overall, Sorgius went 15 - 6 with a 2.23 earned run av- erage, allowing 43 runs – 26 of which were earned – on 138 hits while walking 26 and striking out 70 in 135 innings. For the season, Sorgius pitched 18 complete games, including five shutouts. At the plate, Sorgius bat- ted .273 against PAC oppo- nents, collecting six hits in 22 at-bats and driving in four runs. Overall, Sorgius batted .274 with 17 hits – including two doubles and one home run – in 62 at-bats while scoring one run and driv- ing in 14. Also named to the PAC All-Conference Team were: Catchers: Kendyl Mck- eough (Southridge) and Lauren Lingafelter (Gibson Southern). Pitchers: Jaime Nurren- bern (Gibson Southern) and Hannah Epperson (South Spencer). South Spencer (16 - 7) and Pike Central (15 -5) tied for second at 6 -2, fol- lowed by Tecumseh (17-9) at 5 -3, North Posey (13-10) and Heritage Hills (11-14) at 4-4, Forest Park (9 -17) at 2- 6, Southridge (10 -13) at 1-7, and Tell City (8 -15) at 0 -8.
