Justin Harper Looking for something to do on a Thursday night? Open Mic Night is a great place to listen to live music. Every Thursday night at Applebee's in Shelby, we have a place for you! It's easy, just come by around 9pm. The air is fi lled with sweet tunes and rhythms as musicians from all walks of life creep into the restaurant. If you are a music fan on any level, you will enjoy hearing the variety of talent that come through the evening. Since November of 2010, we have welcomed musicians of all ages to a warm at- mosphere and tasty food. Many people stop by just to listen to live music and enjoy the company of friendly people, sometimes even from as far away as Kentucky! What if I'm not a musician? If you are a singer, you can sing accapella (without music) or ask one of the musicians to play along with you. Guitarists can bring their favorite guitar to plug into the PA. Bass players may want to bring a small amp. There is always a way for you to participate; I always bring a drum, tambourine, or shaker. If you're at a table and a little timid about your talents, then borrow a couple spoons from the kitchen and jam with us from your seat. J.
