Church This year's Sandy Plains Baptist "Ole Timey Pit Cooked" Barbecue was a huge success as they served over 5000 plates. The event began at 12 noon on Saturday, Sept. 10th and ran until 8 p.m. People came from all over to the New House Community to feast on the famous barbecue pork and chicken plates. If you decided to eat at the church pavil- ion, it was all you can eat. Their drive- up "to-go" order line was also a hit. A. Andrews Heading the festival's parade was Belwood Boy Scout Troop 413, who proudly stepped out precisely at 1 o'clock on Saturday. As always, a big feature of the event was the parade of tractors, old and new. Many of the tractors had children or grandchildren riding in the arms of a loved one. –M. A.
