ResCare Homecare COPD Presentation ResCare Homecare has partnered with Alicia Dorn MSN from the University of NC at Greensboro. She is a nursing instructor at Isothermal College. She will present an educational presentation at ResCare Homecare. She will be speaking about COPD, the effects of the disease and treatments. The presentation will take place on Tuesday, February 21 at 5:30 p.m. ResCare Homecare is located at 615 S. DeKabl St., Shelby, across from Bethel Baptist Church. SPD Accepting Applications For Citizens Police Academy The Shelby Police Department is now accepting applica- tions for the Citizen's Police Academy to start March 1st. The group will meet each Thursday for eight weeks from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Shelby Utilities Operations Center located at 824 W. Grover Street in Shelby. This is an excellent opportunity for the community to get to meet many of the employees of the police department as well as how we operate on a daily basis. Require- ments for the academy are: Must be 18 years of age. Must Live, work, or attend school in Shelby, North Carolina. No felony convictions. No misdemeanor convictions within the past three years.
