From construction to entertain- ment. From education to farming policies and laws dictate how we should act. With the tens of thousands of laws on our nation's books, one would think we would be a law- abiding country. But we're not. We are as a whole, one of the most unlawful nations in the world. We cheat, steal, lie, covet and murder with the worst of them. Would more laws benefi t us? I think we've already proven rpcrosswords@gmail.com they would not. The more laws we have, the more we fi nd ways to break them. So what will it take? The best governments, businesses, teams, etc., have few- er rules/laws, than their competition. They do maintain one or two basic principles or objectives in order to stay on task. Everything the organization does or doesn't do is to accom- plish those objectives. The church is to function in the same manner. We have two objectives. Glorify God and help steer others into a relation- ship with Him. We need not have thousands of rules to do that. Jesus summed up the Bible and the churches' objective in two sentences. "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength." The second is this: "Love your neighbor as your- self." (Mark 12:30-31). That's considerably shorter than any set of church by-laws I've ever read. In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven.
