Shelby Lions Club Gives Money to pay for Eye Glasses Lion President Carl Whaley (right) presents a check to Vice District Governor Max Bumgardner. –photo provided by Ludy Wilkie The Shelby Lions Club has given $3,700.00 to North Carolina Lions Incorporated to pay for eye glasses and eye operations. The President of the Shelby Club, Carl Whaley, presented the check to Lions Vice District Gov- ernor Max Bumgardner at the Lions meeting Tuesday, April 14th. Vice District Governor Bumgardner is Chair- person for the Lions Brighter Vision Fund. In addition to the cash donation, the Shelby Club has supplied eyeglasses and helped with eye surgeries for Cleveland County residents.
