PAUL RUBIN LEATHERMAN Mr. Paul Rubin Leatherman, 86, of Shelby, passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2011. A graveside ser- vice was held at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Leatherman served his country in the US Army during WWII where he received a purple heart. He was pre- ceded in death by his parents, John Franklin Leatherman and Ethel Mae Houser Leatherman; a son, Paul Rubin Leatherman Jr.; two brothers, Pink and Zack Leatherman and three sister, Ethel Crotts, Josephine Warlick and Suzie Hoyle. He is survived by his wife of sixty-eight years, Katherine Beam Leatherman; three sons and daughters-in-law, Kirby Dale and Marge Leatherman of Cary, Dan and Tammy Leatherman and Patrick F. and Donna Leatherman of Vale; one daughter and son- in-law, Shasta and Tommy Richardson; one brother and sister-in-law, John and Evelyn Leatherman; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
