Please give the gift of life. Hospice Cleveland County Hospice Cleveland County will hold the following events: “Reflections” - This grief support group meets for six weeks. No cost and open to anyone who has lost a loved one. Please rsvp to ext. 166 if you plan to attend. The final meetings will be held on August 2,9,16, 2011, 5:30 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at Hospice Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Dr., Shelby. Pregnancy Loss And Infant Death Support Group - This group will offer support to families who have experienced the death of an infant or pregnancy loss. The group will meet the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. Please RSVP to ext. 166 if you plan to attend. Meetings will be on Tuesday, August 9 and Tuesday, August 23, 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Hospice Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Dr., Shelby. Camp Mostly Smiles - This is a one-day retreat for children ages 6-16 who are grieving the loss of a loved one. Participants will have the opportunity to express their grief through writing, crafts, play activities and group discussions. Professionals who are trained in grief and loss will facilitate the retreat. Please RSVP to ext. 166 if you plan to attend. Piecemakers Quilt Guid “Piecemakers Quilt Guild meets the first Wednesday of each month from 10AM – 12PM at the Lincoln Co. Senior Center, Room 319, Lincoln Campus of Gaston College, 511 Aspen St., Lincolnton. We are here to teach and encourage those interested in the art of quilting; visi- tors & new members are welcome. Windjammers July Christmas Run Windjammers Motorcycle Club will hold their Christmas Run In July on July 30, 2011. $10.00 donation. The event will begin at Cleveland Mall and ends at Windjammers Clubhouse. They will be leaving the mall at 4:00 p.m. There will be a steak dinner with music by Fine Line. Habitat for Humanity Habitat is now accepting applications for a Habitat Home. Applicants must currently live in sub-standard hous- ing, have sufficient income to pay for an interest-free mortgage but not enough income to qualify for a conventional mortgage, live in Cleveland County for the past 12 months, and contribute sweat equity. This 12-hour course is free and there is no oblitation to volunteer. To get credit for the entire course, you will need to come to one of the classes offered each day. For more information, contact ext. 111. The classes will be held on Monday, August 15, Tuesday, August 16 and Thursday, August 18, 2011. Sign-ups will be ongoing, space permitting. Registrations are being held at the Boys & Girls Club building at 412 West Sumter Street, directly behind Shelby Middle School in Shelby. Any youth, ages 10 through 13, qualifying on the weight restrictions can play. Age cutoff is July 31. Player’s birthdates for ages 10-12 need to be between August 1, 2001 and July 31, 2004 and between August 1, 2000 and July 31, 2001 for age 13.
