Meanwhile in the Southeast, strong high pressure will sit over top of us and cook us under a dome of sinking air and hot winds for the weekend. By early next week, this may slide out of the way and some of the remnants of the circulation from “Don” might just head out way, along with a weak cold front, but there’s no guarantee on where it goes yet. Otherwise, there’s more activity brewing out in the Atlantic and that will have to be watched as we get into August. We’re approaching that time of year when hurricanes are the thing to watch.
