Life Enrichment Nurses Learn New Approaches For Traumatic Brain injuries Two Life Enrichment Adult Day Health Center nurs- es recently attended an “Unconventional Approaches Conference” for professionals and suvivors dealing with traumatic brain injuries (TBI). Speakers included: Dr. Steven Haleo who discussed hid- den vision problems among TBI patients that go undiagnosed and untreated; physical therapist Dr. Andrew Ball, whose topic was overcoming physical setbacks after a brain injury; Dr. Reg McDaniel who outlined how dietary supplementa- tion works to restore central nervous system damage; and psychophysiology clinician and therapist Pat Benfield who talked about how neurofeedback can benefit those with brain injury. “It was not surprising to hear that people with brain inju- ries can continue to improve even five years after the injury,” said Karen Bridges, who is the center coordinator for Life Enrichment Center’s facility in Shelby. “We’ve seen people at Life Enrichment who have improved dramatically a long time after their injury.
