With festive carols on our lips and shiny shoes on our feet, we will make our way to church- es and sanctuaries in order to worship God for all He has done and will do. And while all of our singing, praying and rejoicing may be pleasing to God, it does not complete the act of worship for which God has called us. Our love for God must at some point move from our hearts and minds into our hands and feet. One of Jesus’ half brothers tells us to not only listen and believe what the Word says, but to then go out and do what the Word says (James 1:22). James would tell us not to just decorate a tree and brighten up our homes but to go out and brighten someone’s life by tending to orphans and widows. He would remind us to not only send out Christmas cards, but to also send money and supplies to missionaries around the globe. He would instruct us to spend more time sharing the Gospel than sharing pres- ents with our friends and family. In other words, if you really want to worship the Lord, put your money and your energy where your mouth is. We are called not only to listen to the teachings of Christ, we are called to act like Christ. After we have your acceptance, all your members need to do is while dining with us after 4:30 pm Monday through Saturday and all day on Sundays is simply write their name and the name of the church on the back of their receipt and place it in the comment box. At the end of each month we will tally the amount for each church. A check equal to 10% of the total will be issued in the name of your church.
