One such song is “All I Want for Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth.” Donald Yetter Gardner wrote the song in 1944 while teaching music to schoolchildren in Smithtown, NY.  Two Front Teeth  Jokes and Riddles With Christmas just around the corner, Gardner asked his young students what they wanted that year. As they answered, Gardner noticed that almost all of them had lost one, if not both, of their front teeth. Inspired, Gardner wrote “All I Want for Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth” in about half an hour. Spike Jones and the City Slickers recorded the song, and it was an instant hit, climbing to the top of the music charts.
