Fred Wright and Ken Johnson had 8.75 to take the win. They were followed by Ray Hembree and James Osborne with 8.30. Third place with 4.60 was Mack Wyatt and Johnny Christainberry. Wyatt and Christainberry had big bass of the day with a 3.25 largemouth. Low lake levels and no moving water was the reason most thought catches were down. This week the retirees head to Lake Norman. MOSS Once again a low turnout for the weekly Thursday night bass tournament on Moss Lake last week. Only 12 boats fished and topping the field was Walt Brysick and Tony Cook with 8.13. They also had big bass with a 3.13 largemouth. J.R. Garland and Ronnie Beason took second with 7.32 followed by tournament organizer Arnold Ledford and Clayton Wright with 4.22. Wayne Miller and Rufus took fourth with 3.90 and rounding out the top five was Brian and Cody Hoyle with 3.23. A week-long cool spell fooled me into believing the end of summer had come. Since then, I have been jerked back into reality by the summer heat. In my tri-state area, Kentucky’s season is already open. Tennessee’s will open this Saturday and Virginia the week following. So even though I can go sit in a tree stand, the temperatures have kept me from it. One of the differences in this year, for me, will be that I will be trying to do more fi lming. Even though I am not new to this, I have never felt compelled to make it a pri- ority during my hunts. There seems to be enough video out there already without me passing on a wallhanger simply because the cameraman does not have a good view of my deer. I fi gure we can get the perfect picture after my tag is attached to his leg. But because of some future plans, I am now taking the video camera a little more serious. I actually started doing this back during turkey season, so I know what to expect this fall, and am not looking for- ward to the added responsibilities when I’m preparing for a hunt. Most of the time, I will be both the vid- eographer and the hunter. This makes it even more diffi cult to get all the action on fi lm. But whether I am with someone (physically) or not, when you plan on fi lm- ing a hunt, you are always hunting with someone else. Not only do you have to make sure the hunter has open shooting lanes, but the eye of the camera has to have those same lanes as well. Not only does the hunter have to be able to move FOR SALE FOR SALE (300) 1950’s, 1960’s, 1970’s albums in A-l shape out of a collection. Not only does the hunter have to be camoufl aged and unnoticed, so does the camera. With all of this in mind, I have decided to name my camera “God.” Now, before you decry that I am being sacrilegious or in- dulging in idolatry, just hold on. What I want to do is let my camera remind me about the presence of God – that I must always look at things from His perspective and make sure that I have made provision for Him in all that I do, and that I understand that His all-seeing eyes are not only watching me, but are watching over me as well. My hope at the end of this season will be that I un- derstand in a greater way that many times making plans with God in mind, takes addi- tional effort and even some sacrifi ce. I also want to more fully know that sometimes taking God with me means that I have to wait a little longer and maybe even pass up some things until God says the time is right. I’m just hoping that I can learn these lessons before that wallhanger walks in front of my treestand. Come Play Come Play ©Community First Media Community First Media ©CommunityFirstMedia
