Once the state allotment for our county is depleted, insured individuals will be required to pro- vide their insurance card and copay if applicable. Have your child vaccinated today. Pregnancy Resource Center Walk for Life On Saturday, September 11th at 9:30 am, the Pregnancy Center of Cleveland County will be having its annual “Walk for Life”. The event takes place at Bethel Baptist Church, located at 606 S. DeKalb Street in Shelby, NC. There will be games and special activites for the kids, Christian music and free food and drinks for those who participate. This event allows individuals, families and churches within the community to participate in the Life saving work of the Pregnancy Resource Center of Cleveland County. All monies raised go to fund the mission, vision and goals of the Center. It is not too late to get involved. Homeland – Patriot’s Day Celebration Homeland, A Patriot’s Day Celebration will be held Saturday, September 11, at 7:00 PM in Malcolm Brown Auditorium, Shelby High School. A caregiver will share the story of her husband’s diagnosis of early-onset Alzheimer’s disease and the decisions she had to make. The meeting is free of charge and open to the public. A free sitter service is available for the person with dementia during the meeting but must be reserved ahead of time by calling 704-484-0405 by Sept. 15. The group meets monthly from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Buddy Roberts Life Enrichment Center, 103 T.R. Harris Dr., Shelby. Shoal Creek/Maple Valley Community Watch Meetings Shoal Creek/Maple Valley Community Watch are holding meetings every third Monday of each month at Shoal Creek Baptist Church, 7:00 p.m. Everyone in the community is welcome to attend. This group hosted a back-to-school cookout and gave out school supplies recently. Children there were also informed about the importance of steering away from wrong influences and making good choices. Officers of the Shelby Police Dept. gave the kids lessons on when, how and what to do in case of an emergency and how to avoid the dangers of drugs. Guidelines For Submitting Community Events!
