She is predeceased by husband, William G. Brooks; two grandsons; parents, John and Mary Gordon Mitchell; and five sisters. Mr. Ayers served our country in the U.S. Army. Mr. Thomason served our country in the U.S. Services in Vietnam. Funeral Services were held April 27, 2023 at Open Word Holiness Church, Newton, NC with Pastor Matthew Sparks offi- ciating. Internment followed at Catawba Memorial Park, Hickory, NC 28602. CARL JUNION HULL Carl Junior Hull, 87, of Casar, passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2023. Born in Cleveland County, on September 15, 1935, he was the son of the late Plato Hull and Dona Wright Hull. Mr. Hull was retired from PPG Industries. Mr. Hull served our country in the US Airforce. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta Paige Hull; son-in-law, David Huffstetler; three brothers, JT Hull, Ray Hull and Paul Hull and three sisters, Jean Baucom, Letha Pyatte and Macie Morehead. Survivors include a son, Kevin Hull and wife, Melissa of Casar; a daughter, Amy Huffstetler of Casar; broth- er, Harold Hull of Florida; three sisters, Carol Courson of Pineville, Birla Cupps of Mt. CLARENCE BAXTER JOLLEY Clarence Baxter Jolley, age 74, of Cliffside, passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2023. He is predeceased by his daughter, Tammy Ayers; parents, Robert Ayers, Sr. and Emma Gooden Ayers; brother, Dewitt Ayers; sis- ters, Ruth Ayers, Lois Ayers Parton, Mary Henson, Ruby Campbell and Juanita Roper. Robert, Jr. is survived by his daughters, Sheila Ayers and Sherry Hinson; son, Robert David Ayers; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and brothers, Bobby Ayers and Ray Ayers. ROGER DALE THOMASON Roger Dale Thomason, 76, went to his Heavenly home on Monday, April 24, 2023. He was born on December 23, 1946 to the late Wylie Thomason and Rachael Stamey Thomason in Catawba County. He was also predeceased by sons, Roger Keith Thomason and Steven Randall Haney; and brothers, Richard Thomason, Louise Thomason and James Thomason. Mr. Thomason is survived by his daughters, Kathy McIntyre (Charles) and Kimberly Woody (Daniel); son, Aaron Thomason (Angela Chonta); step-sons, John Spurling (April) and Matthew Spurling (JoAnn); twelve grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and sister, JoAnn Jones. He was born November 27, 1948 in Cleveland County, NC to the late George Oren Jolley and the late Margaret Hamrick Jolley. Mr. Jolley served our country in the U.S. Army. Baxter is survived by his wife, Louise Jones Jolley, his daughters Anne Jolley Espinoza and Amy Jolley Bracebridge and her husband Charlie, his six grandchildren; and one great grandson.
