Among the 20 -person roster for 2023, May has three members of his team who were selected as All-Conference from the Pocket Athletic Conference (PAC), two of whom were selected to the First Team All-PAC and one as a member of the Second Team All-PAC. There were actually five members of the softball team who were named All- Conference in 2022, but Brenna Blume and Olivia Money graduated last May. Both were selected as First Team All-PAC. That still leaves May with a trio of All-League performers, starting with seniors Alexis Tucker and Sydney Long, who were both members of the 2022 All-PAC First Team, and junior Lauryn Adamson, who selected to the All- PAC Second Team a year ago. In addition to her All- Conference laurels, Long was selected as a Second Team All-State performer from her shortstop position. She batted .485 for the season and stole a school record 40 bases. May has four seniors, four juniors, six sophomores, and six freshmen on his 20 -person roster, and nine of his 11 returnees are veterans on the diamond, in terms of playing innings. Long will return at shortstop, with junior Ally Malone back at the "hot corner" on third base and sophomores Tessa Boyd and Melia Reid sharing time at the "keystone" slot at second base. Tucker will hold down first base when she is not on the mound, while junior Callie Dickerson and freshman Carly Totts will both see time on the hill and on first base. Sophomore Lauryn Adamson will hold down centerfield, while junior Morgan Burgess will take care of the action in left field. Senior EmmaLee Higgs will roam the area in right field for the Lady Titans in 2023. Senior Taylor Fonte will call the pitches from behind the plate. Junior Hallee McGill will see action in the outfield. She has the ability to cover any of the three outfield positions for May. When asked about the conference favorites, along with his Lady Titans, May replied, North Posey will again be a favorite—They won the league last year, losing just one game in the conference to finish 11-1 in PAC play. "Tecumseh will also be very good again this season, and Heritage Hills is always good every year—You have to be ready to play every game in the PAC, as any team could get you on any given night or afternoon. "Overall, I think we have the veterans who have been there, and they know what it takes to win, giving us the opportunity to again have a good year." The Lady Titan schedule is again loaded and will be a challenging docket each time the Lady Titans take the field. Gibson Southern will play a 30 -game schedule that includes Sullivan, a four- game swing in Tennessee, Carmi (Illinois), Castle, Evansville Mater Dei, Evansville Memorial, Evansville Reitz, Evansville North, Evansville Harrison, Henderson County (Kentucky), Jasper, Vincennes Lincoln, and Evansville Central, along with the 12 PAC encounters. Conference outings are scheduled for each Tuesday and Thursday, beginning April 6, making the pitching rotation crucial for PAC teams. The schedule is tough… The coach is a veteran, who is a proven winner… The returning letter winners are also proven winners… It looks like another exciting season for Gibson Southern and the Lady Titan Softball Team… It's become a habit in south Gibson County… Don't expect that to change in 2023! Lady Titans have high hopes of another successful season Here's to a winning 2023 season! South Gibson Find your local sports right here in the
