The construction has entered week 32 at the library and the vision is starting to take form. Piece by piece, brick by brick and one nail at a time, the entire team on site has made tremendous progress. Mikala Sisson is the Communication and Collaborative Workspace Assistant at the Fort Branch-Johnson Township Public Library and she added some insight toward the entire operation. "Our expansion project is projected to be finished by the end of August of this year, however the grand opening in its entirety of the Fort Branch Public Library is estimated to be sometime this Fall. As of now, we are on track and on time." Sisson added, "Our expansion project will add more space to the existing buildings, and will connect them together as one large build- ing. Some new features include more space for patrons to read and study, study rooms that patrons can reserve, a large community space with a kitchenette, an interactive children's area, a makerspace that we are calling our "Creation Station", a dedicated genealogy and local history area and a brand new chicken coop for our nine hens! We are also adding more accessibility with an elevator that connects all levels of the new addition and the Carnegie building. Our goal with this expansion project is to create a community hub where everyone can stop by and enjoy their time spent on our campus." The plans sound amazing for the new addi- tion to the Fort Branch-Johnson Township Public Library, so can't wait to see the finished product! Below is the Vision Statement that visitors can be aware of upon entering the library in the near future. "The Fort Branch-Johnson Township Public Library Board of Trustees envision that the library is an ever changing entity that is modern and advanced when it comes to the services that it provides to its patrons whether it is educational, technical, or recreational. The board will support whatever measures to keep that environment, (https://www.fblibraryaddition.com/)." The Fort Branch Public Library enters week 32 of construction.
