Part of the strategy is to recruit a more diverse class of students into healthcare programs at CCC. This grant will help the College expand and diversify enrollment in targeted healthcare programs, including its brand- new Associate Degree Nursing program. "CCC welcomed the fi rst class of nursing students to its stand-alone program last August," said Dr. Christina Hill, dean of Health Sciences, Life Sciences, and Public Services at CCC. "We are excited about the potential this program has to provide our community with more trained nurses, and the Hospice Foundation's generous support will help us do that." The support provided by Hospice Cleveland County Foundation will be used to provide scholarships to students with fi nancial barriers that prevent them from enrolling in a healthcare program. In addition, the grant funds will make it possible for CCC to obtain translation services for nursing and marketing materials and provide professional development on cultural awareness and inclusivity. "The national nursing shortage continues to have a profound impact on our community," said Emily Arey, executive director of Hospice Cleveland County Foundation. "Hospice Cleveland County Foundation is pleased to partner with Cleveland Community College on its initiative to expand and diversify enrollment in high-demand nursing professions." The Hospice Cleveland County Foundation has awarded Cleveland Community College a grant in the amount of $31,852.
