She was born to Cy and Gladys Hood on December 3, 1933, in Mooresville, NC. Melissa was preceded in death by her husband, William Andres DeVane, her parents, and brother Dr. C.K. Hood of Charlotte. She is survived her daugh- ter, Shannon Blackley (Chip) of Shelby; son, Ben Burroughs (Todd) of Rochester, NY; daughter, Laurie (Charles) of Hatteras, NC; and five grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Melissa will rest in Sardis Presbyterian Church Cemetery beside her husband and parents. Patricia was born Saturday, October 31, 1942 in Cleveland County to the late James Martin Williams and Ruby Lovelace Williams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Myles Nix. Those left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Rocky James Walker (Tineta) of Forest City and David Nix of Mooresboro; a brother, Ted Williams (Pat) of Forest City and sister, Geraldine McSwain (Donald) of Shelby; a grand- son; brother-in-law, Troy Nix (Becky) of Forest City; two stepbrothers, Larry Wiggins (Beverly) and David Wiggins (Henrietta); and two great- grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Maggie Shook and Mary Webb Varnadoe. Mr. Hayes served our country in the U.S. Army in the Korean War. He is survived by his sons: Ronald William Hayes (Teresa), Spindale, NC, Jonas Lynn Hayes (Melanie), Kings Mountain, NC, and Michael Eugene Hayes (Melissa), Kings Mountain, NC; daughters: Gail Southard, Union, SC, Donna Moore, Woodruff, SC, Angela Fincher (Kieth), Spartanburg, SC, and Patty Walker (Jeff), Kings Mountain, NC; twelve grand- children; and twenty great grandchildren. DIANE ELIZABETH WILSON McCRAW Diane Elizabeth Wlson McCraw, age 76, native of Cleveland County, NC, passed away on December 31, 2022. Diane was born on January 13, 1946, in Cleveland County to Anne Lee Rice and Carl Wood Wilson, and step father, Grover Cleveland Rice. And was raised by Bae and Lizzie Gibson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest Edward McCraw and two sisters, Lois Wilson Wheeler and Anitia Sides. Those left to cherish her memories are her two sons, Stephen McCraw and husband, Scott Sexton of Charlotte; Richard McCraw and wife, Melissa McCraw of Vale; one daughter, Amy McCraw of Shelby; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
