She was born in Kings Mountain, NC, daughter of Bill Foster and the late Brenda McAbee Foster and was preceded in death by her husband, George Carpenter; and a daughter, Lindsey Megan Carpenter. Mrs. Carpenter is sur- vived by her daughter, Kaitlyn Carpenter (Adam Kiser), Shelby, NC; father, Billy Ray Foster, Kings Mountain, NC; brother: John Foster, Gastonia, NC; moth- er-in-law, Elizabeth "Lib" Carpenter. ELIZABETH ANN SPURLING SAIN Elizabeth Ann Spurling Sain, 90, of Lawndale, passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2023. Born in Cleveland County, on June 13, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Monroe Franklin Spurling and Selvia Lattimore Spurling. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kemp Patha Sain; a son, Ted Sain; daughter, Kempette Black; four brothers, Edwin Spurling, Robert Spurling, Daniel Spurling and Warren Spurling and two sisters, Ruth Spurling Beam and Pauline Spurling Miller. Survivors include her son, John Sain and wife, Kathy of Lawndale; five grandchil- dren and two great-grand- children. A Funeral Service was held January 3, 2023 at KENNETH ROBERT CHILDERS SR. Kenneth Robert Childers Sr., 94, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on January 1, 2023 at his home. He was born in Cherokee County, SC, son of the late Samuel Teal and Myrtle Mauney Childers and was preceded in death by his first wife, Alda Faye Childers; his brothers, Ray and James Childers; one sister, Annie Mae Berry; and his son-in- law, Butch Ramsey. Mr. Childers served our country in the US Army in the Korean War. He is survived by his wife, Doris McGinnis Childers, of the home; children: Bobby Childers and wife Darlene, Kings Mountain, NC and Judy Childers Ramsey, Martinez, GA; stepchildren: Elizabeth McGinnis, Laura Titshaw and husband Dave, and Julie Taylor and husband Danny; sister: Mary Goforth, Kings Mountain, NC; four grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Mr. Wylie is survived by a son, Steven Lee Wylie (Amy); three daughters, Rhonda Jean Wylie Cole (Mark), Donna Kaye Wylie Willis (Scott), and Kathy Ann Wylie Phillips (Jon); eleven grand- children; and eleven great- grandchildren. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Paul and Francis Price Byers. He is survived by his wife, Dana Byers of the home; son, Jody Byers and wife, Janie of Kings Mountain; daughter, Ashley Floder, Georgia West of Shelby, and Caelyn Byers of the home; sister, Karen Byers of Grover; brother, Roger Byers of SC; stepdaughter, Amber Bell and husband Joseph; stepson, Matthew Patterson and wife Chrissy; six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Mr. Bolin served our country in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam Conflict. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Jimmie Lee Boies; second husband Frank E.
