Free help with hearing loss By George Pickersgill Gibson County Veterans Service Officer 812 385 -4522 Do you str uggle with your hearing? If you do, one of the most fr ustrating things of all can be talking on the telephone. If this is you, there is wonder ful news for you. CapTel, the inventor of the caption telephone, of- fers a telephone and free ser vice that can make all the dif ference. Caption telephones will print on a digital screen the con- versation of the par ty to whom you are speak- ing and include voicemail which similarly prints the caller's mes- sage. It is a ser- vice that can literally change the life of those str uggling with their hearing. There are absolutely no hidden costs or fees. This ser- vice is paid for by Americans With Disabili- ties Act (ADA) funds which are assessed to ever y monthly phone bill in the countr y and are reser ved specifically for this purpose. A demonstra- tion phone is available to show you and I can answer almost any question. If you want to tr y it, Cap- Tel will bring the phone to you, install it, and teach you how to use it. There are options for house- holds with and without inter- net capabilities and for land lines as well as cell phones. You need not be a veteran. Anyone can take advantage of this ser vice if necessar y. If you could benefit from this ser vice, please call and let me help you.
