She was born in York County, SC, daughter of the late Vester and Martha Peterson Martin and was preceded in death by her husband, JC Ayers, a daugh- ter, Rita Davis, four brothers and three sisters. She is survived by her sons: Steve Ayers, Larry Ayers, and Bryan Ayers; daughters: Debbie Jones and Sheila Sees; twelve grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
