Born in Burke County on April 23, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Dorse Lee Lowman and Maude Ann Cloninger Lowman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Noah Speagle, one son, Richard Speagle and wife Justina; one son-in-law, C.W. Willis; three brothers, Paul, Grady and Clinton Lowman; and two sisters, Margaret Smith and Ruby Young. She is survived by her two sons, Robert Speagle of Vale and Dr. Ernest Speagle and wife, Debbie of Vale; four daughters, Nancy S. Wright and husband, Hatley of Vale, Gayle S. Willis of Vale, Jo S. Smith and hus- band, Jim of Vale and Lorie S. Yancey and husband, Dean of Vale; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; and sixteen great great grand- children. The funeral service was held on Sunday, February 6, 2022, at Ebenezer United Methodist Church with the Rev. Allen Boliek officiating. Born in Lexington County, SC, he was the son of Odell and Elizabeth Davis Koon. CAROLE BRACKETT BOTTOMS Carole Brackett Bottoms, 83, of Casar, passed away on Friday, February 4, 2022. Born in Cleveland County, on July 21, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Carmie A. Bracket and Monnie Waters Brackett. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Ray Bottoms, son Michael Ray Bottoms and brother, Mitchell Brackett. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Lee Gailey. Survivors include her son, Phillip Gailey; one grand- daughter; two brothers, Dennis Wright of Valdese and Donnie Wright and wife, Cheryl of Shelby.
