Hunting, fishing, trapping license fees increase For the first time since 2006, Indiana DNR Division of Fish & Wildlife (DFW ) has increased fees for hunting, fishing, and trapping licenses. Commercial license fees al- so increase, some for the first time since the 1980s. The increases will be applied to personal licenses start- ing with the 2022-2023 license year (April 1, 2022 – March 31, 2023) that will go on sale in January. The fee increase does not affect licenses for the remainder of the 2021-2022 license year (April 1, 2021 – March 31, 2022), even if those licenses are purchased after Jan. 1. More information on these changes, including a full list of the new fees, can be found here: dnr.IN.gov/fish-and- wildlife/licenses-and-permits/fee-changes. The Charger varsity team took to the court a little slow in the first half of the game, los- ing out in rebounds and turn- overs. By halftime, the score was 35 -9, with the Chargers way behind and seeming to struggle. During the second half of the game, the Chargers seemed to gain back some of their determination, taking 17 points in the third quar- ter. However, the damage had been done and the Chargers were unable to make up the lost points from the first half of the game. The lead scorer for Pike Central's varsity team was Kendric Sorgius with 11 points scored. Following him was Braden Howald with eight points, Quade Morton with seven points, Julian Gish with six points, Alex Clark with five points and Chase Ridao with two points. JUNIOR VARSITY The Charger boys' junior varsity team also played the Rangers on Thursday, suffer- ing a loss of 55 -21. Pike Centrals JV boys seemed to be off their game from start to finish. In the first half of the game, they were only able to land a total of nine points to the Rangers' 28. In the second half of the game, the Chargers picked up their scoring by a fraction, but missed rebounds and turn- overs hurt them quite a bit. The JV boys could only line up 12 points for this half, even though they fought for the points and the ball the whole second half of the game.
