Remington was born March 2, 2021 in Cleveland County. Even though his lifespan on this earth was five months and eighteen days, he touched all those who knew and loved him for eternity. He is now one of God's precious children. He was preceded in death by his paternal grand- father, Michael Holland. In addition to his par- ents, those left to cherish his memory is his sister, Brooklynn Morrison; mater- nal grandparents, Karen Swink and Robert Fowler of Mooresboro; paternal grandparents, Misty and C.J. Humphries of Forest City; maternal great-grand- parents, Ruthie Spicer and Jimmy Hicks; paternal great-grandmother, Lisa Moore. He is also survived by uncles, Zachary Morrison, Christopher Morrison, Trenton Carroll, aunt, Alexis Carroll and a host of extend- ed family members. Harrelson Funeral and Cremation Services is serving the family. Donald Epley Donald Epley, age 81, of Forest City, passed away August 23, 2021. Donald was born June 16, 1940 in Rutherford County to the late Barziel Epley and Pantha Hill Epley. He worked for Spindale Mill/New Cherokee Mill for many years and then for the Rutherfordton Maintenance Department. Donald was known for his He was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church where he served as the sound tech- nician. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of almost 63 years, Wilma Epley; daughters, Linda Epley Guzman (Joseph) of Forest City and Tina Epley James (Mac) of Cliffside; 3 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. The funeral was con- ducted August 26, 2021 at Holly Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Moneyham officiating. Audrey Jean Nix Randlett Audrey Jean Nix Randlett age 79 of Forest City, NC died August 23, 2021. Born March 21, 1942, in Anderson County, South Carolina she was the daugh- ter of the late Lester and Mary Howard Nix. Having resided in Forest City since 1975, she worked for Mastercraft for over 20 years, and was a faithful member of the Concord Baptist Church. In addition to her par- ents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George H. Randlett, Jr. in 1993 and her brother, Afton Nix. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, George and Lisa Randlett of Forest City; daughters and sons- in-law, Hope and Tim Burns of Denver, and Heather and Nathan Fisher of Forest City; 7 grandchildren. Funeral services were held August 27, 2021, at Concord Baptist Church with the Rev. Travis Laflin offi- ciating. Hugh Nanney Hugh Donald Nanney, age 93, gained his heavenly home August 24, 2021. Born June 12, 1928 to Walter Dewey and Fannie Koon Nanney. Left to remember and honor Hugh are his wife Colene, daughters Lynette Melton (Kim), Donna Ferguson (Joey), Laura Manis (Andy), and Pam Childers, two sisters, Nadine Rippy and Annette Shehan, grandchildren Matt Ford (Angie), Crissy Coffey (Leonard), Dillon Watson, and Shadrick Watson, great grandchildren Malakai Ford, Paisley Coffey, Jaylee Reynolds, Hunter Sherman, and Cheyenne Sherman. Hugh was preceded in death by his parents, a sis- ter Louise Crowe, and broth- ers Alvin Nanney and Jack Nanney. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills. A graveside service was held August 28 at Round Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Michael Jones officiating. Dorothy "Dot" Bridges Jolley Dorothy "Dot" Bridges Jolley, age 92, passed away August 25, 2021. She was a native of Cleveland County & daugh- ter to the late D.C. Bridges & Georgia Tessnear Bridges. Dot was a member of Cliffside Baptist Church. Dot was preceded in death by husband Clyde Jolley, sons; Dennis Jolley & Larry Jolley, 3 brothers & 9 sisters. Dot is survived by chil- dren Charles Jolley (Kathy), Brenda Stephens (Roger) & Gary Jolley (Elizabeth), 8 grandchildren & 15 great grandchildren. The funeral was held August 29, 2021 at Cliffside Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Elgin officiating. Memorials may be made to Cliffside Baptist Church at PO Box 336 Cliffside, NC 28024. Sandra McBee Lowery Sandra McBee Lowery, age 64, of Henrietta, passed away August 23, 2021. Sandra was born June 7, 1957 in Cleveland County to the late Junior McBee & Jeanette Bradley McBee. She worked for Cone Mill-Cliffside Plant for 30 years. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 47 years, Michael Kelly Lowery; daughters, Kelly Michelle Lowery, Angie Marie Lowery & a son, Michael Junior Lowery all of Mooresboro; brothers, Ricky McBee (Terry) of Georgetown, SC & Wayne McBee of Forest City & 3 grandchildren. Eveline Trout Walker Eveline Trout Walker, 82, of Forest City, NC, passed away August 24, 2021. A native of Rutherford County, she was the daugh- ter of the late Bob & Robbie Millwood Trout. She was a member of Trinity Wesleyan Church & worked for North State Gas Company. Left to cherish her mem- ories are her daughters, Cathy Walker & Carol Walker; son, Joe Walker; grandchil- dren, Autumn Morgan & Zachary Walker; great grand- son Bryson Walker; & sister Mary Street. In addition to her parent, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Norris Walker. Funeral services were held August 27, 2021 at Crowe's Mortuary with Rev. Larry Segers officiating. Gaizick, age 90, of Low Bridge Road, Forest City passed away August 26, 2021 at Atrium Health- Cleveland in Shelby. Rita was born November 30, 1930 in Cambridge, Massachusetts to the late Joe Walsh and Helen Lee English Walsh. Rita worked for United Southern Industries for twen- ty-three years before retire- ment. She was a dedicated member of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church. Rita enjoyed read- ing, coloring, shopping, taking care of her pets and having a good cup of coffee. In addition to her par- ents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Thomas J. Gaizick; two sons, Mark Maynard and Thomas Gaizick and two daughters, Diane La Pierre and Gail Ramsey. Those left to cherish her memory include her five sons, Robert Praino (Rose) of Forest City, Paul Maynard (Rita) of Forest City, Ronnie Maynard of Mooresboro, Michael Gaizick and John Gaizick of Rutherford County; two daughters, Nancy Rivero of Forest City and Cathy Giannini of Mooresboro. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. No formal services will be conducted at this time. Harrelson Funeral and Cremation Services is serving the family. Lily Pauline Whitlock Lily Pauline Whitlock, age 101, passed away Friday at Fairhaven in Forest City. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Miller and Bertha West Miller and was also preceded in death by her only son Raymond Otis Poteat and a number of siblings. Left to cherish her memory are her grand- children Steve Poteat (Abbey), Leesa Hilty, Tamra Luckadoo, Andria Horn (Jack) and Brandi Poteat; 11 great grandchildren and 21 Great Great grandchildren. Bobby Joe Harris Bobby Joe Harris, 84, of Rutherfordton, passed away August 28, 2021 at Holly Springs Senior Center. A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Jesse Vernon and Virginia Helen Kuykendall Harris. Bobby was a retired sales manager and a US Air Force Veteran. Left to cherish his mem- ory is his daughter, Carol Dornate; sisters, Gloria Hudson, Dawn Bradley, Jackie Camp; brothers, Larry Harris and Danny Harris. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Juanita Harris, and siblings Madge Haughn, Betty Arrowood, Lewis Harris and Juanita Wall. Graveside services were held August 30, 2021 at Mountain Creek Baptist Church. Raymond Otis Poteat Raymond Otis Poteat, age 82, of Spindale passed away Wednesday at the home of his daughter Andria. He was the son of the late T. B. and Lily Pauline Whitlock and was also pre- ceded in death by a daughter Donna Rae Poteat and step father James H. Whitlock. Left to cherish his mem- ory are a son Steve Poteat (Abby), daughters Leesa Hilty, Tamra Luckadoo, Andria Horn (Jack) and Brandi Poteat; his beloved first wife Gloria Edwards, 11 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Vickie Ann Doggett Vickie Ann Doggett, age 64 passed away August 24, 2021 at her home. A native of Rutherford County, she was a retired C.P.A. and the daughter of the late William Walton Doggett and Gladys Justice Doggett. She is survived by her brother, John Doggett and his wife Tamara; a nephew, William Doggett; two niec- es, Emma and Elizabeth Justice; as well as a num- ber of other relatives and friends. A celebration of Vickie's life will be held at a later date by her family. She was laid to rest at Round Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Union Mills, NC. Cassie Jana Sailors Cassie Jana Sailors, 25, of Hickory, passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2021. Cassie was born in Burke County, on May 12, 1996. She was employed with Gaston Perio as a dental hygienist and was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church. Cassie valued her family especially her nieces more than anything. She was free spirited and hard headed and was able to accomplish any- thing she set out to do. She is survived by her par- ents, Michael James Sailors of Casar and Jan Brittain Sailors of Lawndale; sister, Johnsie Orwig and husband, Chris of Lawndale; grandparents, Alexander and Audrey Brittain of Fallston and Jimmy and Kay Sailors of Lawndale; special nieces, Janalyn, Jessa and another niece due in October; fur baby Piper and numerous loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A memorial service was held August 31, 2021 at Zion Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. William Ewing and Rev. Pat Jobe officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home & Cremation Ray Crowder Ray Crowder, age 81, of Rutherfordton, NC, died August 25, 2021, at Mission Hospital McDowell in Marion, NC. He was the son of the late Bristol and Nell Crowder. In addition to his parents Ray was preceded in death by his wife Louise Austin Crowder and a son Justin Crowder. He was also preceded in death by four sisters. Ray was a native of Asheville, NC. He loved to do woodwork- ing, camping and enjoyed visits with family and friends. Ray Crowder accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior on July 29, 2021. He felt blessed that he was going to be with his wife Louise and son Justin. Survivors include: three Daughters: Teresa Cole, Pamela Cooper (Billy), Tina Crowder; one brother: Ken Crowder (Betty); two Sisters: Doris Ramsey, Wanda Morgan (Fred); five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Memorial services were held September 1, 2021 with Reverend Willard Pruitt offici- ating.
