Charger eighth graders Ambition basketball champs Pike Central eighth graders Kylon Bottoms, son of Trisha and Jason Bottoms, of Winslow, and Lane Frederick, son of Brad and Jana Fredrick, of Pe- tersburg, have been playing basketball for a orga- nization out of Evansville called Ambition. Bot- toms and Frederick both brought home a basket- ball championship medal this past weekend. Lady Chargers crush the scrimmage By Matt Haycraft Pike Central Lady Char- gers soccer started the sea- son off right with a 3-0 win against Vincennes Rivet in a scrimmage game on Satur- day, August 7. Kahle Young made the three goals for the game, with assists by Kennedy Willis, Alli Holder and Ab- by Skelton. Mallory Hunt played an astounding goal game, while Keena Young, Beth Eddington, Lillian Thompson and Albany Ash- ley all did well holding Vin- cennes scoreless throughout the game. Coach Chad Western said, "Everyone had huge efforts and we played well as a team." The Lady Chargers will play their first official game of the season on Tuesday, Au- gust 17 at 8 p.m. against Tell City at the Old Petersburg Gym soccer fields.
