Chargers do well in three-day Super Hoops Sunday overtime tip-in knocks them out By James Capozella Pike Central Charger head boys' basketball coach Hunter Elliott said, "Super Hoops Team Camp went well. The biggest aspect is the team-building portion and the kids being able to spend three full days together. The kids always enjoy getting to spend time together and stay in the dorms. "The boys did a good job and played hard all weekend. We lost a couple close games, where we had the lead with a couple minutes left. We have to learn how to finish those close games. We got elimi- nated in the tournament on Sunday with a one-point loss in overtime on a tip-in at the buzzer. We stayed on cam- pus at Indiana Wesleyan. Our varsity returners are Braden Howald, Alex Clark, Kend- ric Sorgius, Peyton Howald, Julian Gish and Quade Mor- ton. Jagar Dent, Chase Rid- ao, Ethan Meadors and Zane Gehlhausen have all got time running with the varsity this summer." Coach added they don't keep books or anything in summer camp so there are no individual stats. Coach Elliott added, "The Olney Central Shootout went really well. We went 4-0 on the day, with varsity beating NCOE, Martinsville and Par- is. The Charger junior varsity beat Paris JV."
