ROSA LEE WARD PADGETT Rosa Lee Ward Padgett departed this life on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at her residence. She was born on July 1, 1925 in Lawndale, NC to the late Frank Ward and the late Helen Wray Ward. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Henry "Buck" Padgett; two broth- ers, Eddie L. Ward and Willie Frank Ward and her sisters, Lucille W. Williamson, Cleo W. Hambright, Ruth Ward and Anne W. Griffin; one great- grandson, and one great- granddaughter. She leaves to cher- ish her memory, three chil- dren, Jearldine Watson and husband, Robert; Marilyn McCluney and husband Paul and James Gary Padgett; special daughter-in-law, Sherrill Padgett; three broth- ers, James H. Ward, John Ward and George Ward; two sisters, Shirley W. Fuller and Jacquelyn W. Guest; seven grandchildren; sixteen great- grandchildren; three great- great grandchildren. MARY LOGAN Mary "Mae" Francis Rippy Logan, 81, of Shelby, NC passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 in Shelby. She was born on April 3, 1939 in Cleveland County, NC to the late L.J. Rippy, Sr. and the late Elizabeth Joyner Rippy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Logan, Sr.; a daughter, Rachel Jeanette Logan; a son, Kenneth Bernard Logan and two brothers, L. J. Rippy, Jr. and Johnny Lee Rippy. She leaves to cherish her memory to her three sons, William Logan, Jr., Kerry Logan and Tyrome Logan (Angie); two daughters, Alice Mosley (Walter) and Ressia Logan; a sister, Bessie Lee Lockhart; fifteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren. and a host of nieces, nephews, The funeral service for Ms. Logan was private. Burial took place at Sunset Cemetery. LEROY VINSON, JR. Leroy Vinson, Jr. 69 of Shelby, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Atrium Health Cleveland in Shelby. He was born on June 5, 1951 in Cleveland County, NC to the late Leroy Vinson, Sr. and the late Alvesta Clements Vinson. He leaves to cherish fond memories of him to his son, William Lamont Gist (Tina) of Shelby, NC; three broth- ers, Forest Vinson (Rebecca) of Cherryville, NC, William Vinson (Marie) of Shelby and Dale Vinson of Panama City, FL; two sisters, Wenda Vinson and Brenda Nix (Rev. GRACE HUSKEY POOLE Grace Huskey Poole went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at her residence in Shelby, NC. She was born on February 7, 1947 in Cleveland County, NC to the late James and Eunice Accor Huskey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Poole, Sr. and a daughter-in- law, Danette Poole. She was born on September 17, 1959 in Cleveland County, NC to Thelma Littlejohn Allison and the late Floyd Allison. Floria leaves behind her mother, Willie Thelma Allison of Shelby, NC. and her five brothers and sisters Dianne Littlejohn, Calvin Littlejohn, Harold Allison, Cynthia Allison & Lester Allison who all resides in Shelby, North Carolina. She also raised two daugh- ters Tonya Allison of Shelby, North Carolina, Shironda Allison West (Derick West Sr.) of Atlanta, Georgia, also four grandchildren. GRACIE LESLIE PARKS Gracie Leslie Parks, 72, of Lawndale, NC passed away on Monday, January 25, 2021 at her residence. She was born on March 17, 1948 in Cleveland County, NC to the late Ira Matthew Leslie and the late Odessia Lula Mae Byers Leslie. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Walter Leslie. JAMES BARNETT James William Barnett, 95, of Cherryville, NC passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at his residence. He was born on June 27, 1925 in Gaston County, NC to the late Brady Barnett and the late Cleo Lowery Barnett. Mr. Barnett served our country in the U.S. Army. He earned the World War II Victory Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Theater Medal and Good Conduct. In addition to his par- ents, he was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Sims Barnett, sister Myrtle Barnett Adams, brother Leon Barnett. Left to cherish fond memo- ries of him are his four chil- dren: Pastor Bobby Giles (Mae) of Gastonia, NC, Glenda Barnett, Janet Farley (Aldric) and Michelle Barnett all of Cherryville, NC; one sister, Virginia Herndon of Lincolnton; six grandchildren: nine great grandchildren. VERA LEE MCKINZIE Vera Lee McKinzie, 83, of Kingstown, NC passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at her residence. She was born on February 10, 1937 in Rutherford County, NC to the late L.C. Lee and the late Lottie Mae Hopper Lee. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Charlie Lee, J.C. Lee and Billy Lee. She leaves to cherish her memory to her husband, James Leonard McKinzie; her children, Linda J. McKinzier of Kingstown, Sonya D. Burial took place at Eskridge Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. WILLIE JOE GASTON Willie Joe Gaston, 76, of Shelby, NC passed away on Friday, January 29, 2021 at Atrium Health- Cleveland in Shelby, NC. He was born on September 15, 1944 in Cleveland County, NC to the late Joe H. Gaston and the late Hattie Ross Gaston. Mr Gaston served our country in the United States Navy. In addition to his parents, he was pre- ceded in death by his pater- nal grandparents,and mater- nal grandparents, his wife Evelyn Hopper Gaston. Willie leaves behind his son, Anthony Gaston (Teresa) of Gastonia, NC; daughter, Angela Gaston of Charlotte, NC; four brothers, Nathaniel Gaston (Regina) of Providence, RI, Carl Gaston Sr.; Bobby Gaston (Dorothy) both of Shelby, NC and Steven Gaston (Catherine) of Lawndale, NC; four sisters, Shirley Dixon (Rev Larry), Elaine Gaston; Faye Gaston, Annette Parrott (Randolph) all of Shelby, NC, Delores Crawford of Charlotte, NC and brother-in law Don Jolley of Kingstown, NC; four grand- sons, two granddaughters, Jerae' Gaston and Sophia Jones both of Charlotte, NC; three step-grandchildren,and eighteen great-grandchildren. REGINALD JAJUAN REID Reginald Jajuan Reid, 26, of Shelby, NC passed away on Friday, January 29, 2021 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, NC. He was born February 16, 1994 in Cleveland County, NC, the only son of Reginald Warren Reid and Shannon Reid Gordon. He is preceeded by his father, Reginald Warren Reid; two sisters, Chassidi Blair and Jaquaila Reid; paternal grandparents, maternal grandfather. Those left behind to cher- ish his memory forever are, his mother, Shannon Reid Gordon (Nelson) of Grover, NC; his son, Reginald Michael Dajuan Reid; grand- mother, his fiancé, Tiffany Tate of Shelby. The service for Mr. Reid will be private. Burial will took place at Sunset Cemetery. KENNETH CLEVELAND SCISM, JR. Kenneth Cleveland Scism, Jr. 76, native of Cleveland County, passed away at Atrium Healthcare Cleveland on Wednesday, January 06, 2021. He is predeceased by his parents, Kenneth Cleveland Scism, Sr. and Eloise Hammet Scism. Kenneth leaves behind to cherish his memories one daughter, Virginia "Andi" Scism Mills of Murrells Inlet SC; one sister, Caroyln McKee. No Services are planned at this time but will be announced at a later date. CARL LEE FALK Carl Lee Falk, 78, of Mooresboro, NC passed away into the loving arms of our Eternal Father on Tuesday, January 12, 2021. He is predeceased by his parents, Jess A. Falk and Dicey Mary Belle Hobbs; brothers, John Falk, Tom Falk, Jack Falk, C.Joseph Falk, and Paul Falk; sister, Mary Davis. He is survived by his wife, Helen Falk of the home; children, Dawn Mayo, Lee Falk (Ronda), Elizabeth Jones (Mark), Benjamin Falk (Melinda), Aaron Falk (Amber) and Carmen Falk; eight granddaughters, elev- en grandsons, five great- granddaughters, and a sister, Paula Creech. Mr. Falk served our county in the.U.S. Air Force. A Graveside Service with Military Honors by the Rutherford County Honor Guard was held, at Eternal Hills, Forest City, NC. JOHNNY HENRY HILL, JR. Cherryville -Johnny Henry Hill, Jr., 89, formerly of Wadesboro, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2021 in Hickory, NC. He was the son of Johnnie and Vera Strickland Hill. He is survived by his chil- dren Velda Cureton (Gary Gales), Michael Hill (Cindy) and Sandra Markland (Tony); his five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, his sis- ters Susan Schaffer, Betty Jean Burleson and Nancy Simmons, his brother-in-law Valdon Lovett and sisters-in- law Louise Hill, Nancy Martin and Linda Hertlein. Mr. Hill served our country in the U.S. Air Force. A Service to inter their intermingled ashes will be held May 15, 2021. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity.
