EVERETTE DEAN BRACKETT Everette Dean Brackett, 73, died Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Atrium Health Cleveland. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Summie and Beulah Robinson Brackett. Everette served his coun- try in the US Army during Vietnam. In addition to his par- ents, he was preceded in death by his son, Johnny Brackett. He is survived by his wife, Martha Grigg Brackett of the home; sons, Aaron Brackett and wife Tammy and Danny Brackett and wife Bobbie; sis- ter, Elaine Bradford and hus- band Phillip; brothers, Leonard Brackett and wife Emily and Connley Brackett and wife Linda; and four grandchildren. An outdoor visitation and funeral service was held February 3, 2021 at Brackett Farm & Forrest Products, Born in Buncombe County, NC on May 24, 1966, he was the son of the late Robert Edward Sorrells and Thelma Elizabeth Hannah Sorrells. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Greg Sorrells. Survivors include his wife Frances Rosanna Ramey Sorrells; three sons, Anthony Sorrells of Waynesville, Daniel Sorrells of Waynesville and Levi Sorrells and wife Chelsea of Shelby; one daughter, Brittney Sorrells of Shelby, and four grandchil- dren. MARTHA ANN MOORE Martha Ann Moore, age 89, of Ellenboro, passed away Friday, January 29, 2021 at her residence. Martha was born Monday, January 25, 1932 in McDowell County to the late Frank and Pleamie Upton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; two sons, Roger and Franklin Moore and eight siblings. Those left to cherish her memory include her sister, Patsy Ledbetter of Cliffside; four grandchildren, ten great- grandchildren, and ten great- great-grandchildren. A funeral service was con- ducted at Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Scott Butler and Reverend Jerry Hames officiating. Interment followed in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. She was born in Neenah, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. C.E. Fritz, and was preceded in death by her husband, Donald J. Deal, brothers Charles Joseph Fritz, W. Richard Fritz Sr., R. Douglas Fritz, and sister Alice Fritz Riley. Betty Anne is survived by her two sons, Joseph Deal of San Francisco, CA, and John Deal of Kings Mountain. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Elliott Ruppe; a daughter, Kay Ruppe; a son, Donald R. Ruppe; a brother, Jim Goode and a sister, Lucille Butler. Survivors include a son, Charles "Chuck" Ruppe and wife, Jaqueline of Shelby; sisters, Juanita Wallace of Cherryville, Shirley Fisher of Rocky Mount, Carolyn Kinney of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; five grandchildren, and several great-grandchil- dren. David Alfred Qualls, Jr., age 93, earthly journey came to an end on January 29, 2021. He was born May 25, 1927 in Burlington, NC. He was preceded in death by parents, David A. and Ethel Teer Qualls, and his wife, Iris Everhart Qualls. He is survived by one brother, Darrell Qualls of Los Gatos, CA, and one sis- ter, Nancy Qualls Cerveny, of Happy Valley, Oregon. He served our county in the U.S. Army.
