Dale, Indiana www.SchumMonuments.com 812-937-4921 Local Representative RONALD WOODS 812-789-2009 DONALD DORSEY Donald Dorsey, 87, former- ly of Cato, passed away on Jan- uary 1, 2021, at Saint Francis Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born on February 13, 1933, to Catherine Eliza- beth (Poehlein) Dorsey and Ollie Eugene Dorsey. He was a corporal in the United States Army, where he served his country proud- ly during the Korean War. He was a farmer and was re- tired from the Whirlpool Cor- poration after 40 years. He lat- er enjoyed working at Walmart in Jasper. He married Lorene Faye Burch on December 3, 1955, and she preceded him in death. He is survived by their two boys, Barry (Sherri) Dors- ey, of Lancaster, S.C., and Mi- chael (Kelly) Dorsey, of Mon- rovia, Ind.; 11 grandchildren, Joshua, Jeremy, Caleb, Zach- ery, Jacob, Kelsey, Erin, Ryan, Colin, Jason and Megan; and 10 great-grandchildren. A celebration of life will be at a later time. JAMES K. K ABRICK James K. Kabrick, 84, of Jas- per, passed away at 3:08 p.m. on Wednesday, December 30, 2020, in Memorial Hospi- tal and Health Care Center in Jasper. He was born in Spencer, Io- wa, on February 26, 1936, to Roland and Lucille (Miller) Kabrick. He married Betty Jo Brace on June 2, 1956, in the Otwell United Methodist Church in Otwell. He moved to Jasper and was a 1954 graduate of Jasper High School, where he became the first quarterback for Jasper Wildcat football. He worked at Midwestern Gas and Old Ben Coal for many years, and then worked for Elmer Buch- ta as a moving engineer until retirement. At Elmer Buchta, he was involved in moving ma- ny historical homes and struc- tures, from lighthouses to cov- ered bridges. He was a mem- ber of the Otwell United Meth- odist Church, where he was a trustee for many years, a life- time and founding member of the Structural Movers Associ- ation, Masonic Lodge and the Hadi Shriners. He enjoyed watching his grandkids com- pete in all their sports and at- tended every event. He also enjoyed golfing and going to the horse races with his Ot- well friends. Surviving are his wife, Betty Jo Kabrick, of Jasper; two daughters, Debra (Phil) Troutman, of Otwell, and Vic- ki (Nick) Smith, of Jasper; two sons, Scott (Renee) Kabrick, of Jasper, and Ty (Brandi) Kabrick, of Velpen; 13 grand- children, Cody ( Jess) Trout- man, Travis (Nicki) Trout- man, Hunter ( Jordan) El- liott, Shea (Matt) Hendrixon, Erik (Lori) Smith, Jake, Sa- mantha, Jackson and Charlie Kabrick, Hayden Adair, and Wren and Sawyer Kabrick; 13 great-grandchildren, Hav- en, Rueger, Ryder, Remi, Ken- zie, Morgan, Taten, Caroline, Eloise, Hamilton, Cyrus, Ava, and Hudson; two sisters, Judy (Stan) Englert, of Jasper, and Terry ( John) Lukemeyer, of Jasper; and one brother, Rich- ard (Carol) Kabrick, of New- burgh. JAMES LOUIS LEMOND James Louis Lemond, 86, of Huntingburg, passed away at 1:05 a.m., Friday, January 1, 2021, at Jasper Memorial Hos- pital Emergency Room. He was born October 2, 1934, in Duff, Ind., to Orville and Catherine (Nolan) Le- mond. He retired from the Air Force as a MSgt/E-7 and served in the Vietnam War. A fter 20 years of service, he worked for Kimball Electron- ics for 11 years. He was a mem- ber of the VFW Post #2366 in Huntingburg. He enjoyed be- ing with his family, his dog, Ti- to, and gardening. He is survived by his wife, Cordelia (Uppencamp) Le- mond, of 14 years; one son, Charles R. (Pam) Lemond, of Otwell; two grandchildren, Stephen (Chyanna) Lemond, of Otwell, and Elizabeth Le- mond, of Murphysboro, Ill.; two great-granddaughters, Lil- lian and Willow Lemond; two stepsons, David (Linda) and Pete Jr. Lemond, both of Hunt- ingburg; five step-grandchil- dren; eight step-great-grand- children; four sisters, Henri- etta ( Jim) Toby, Margaret Brown and Mary (Butch) Bohnart, all of Huntingburg, and Esther Harris, of Mt. Car- mel, Ill.; two brothers, Char- lie Lemond, of Birdseye, and Albert Lemond, of Mt. Carm- el, Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Lanora (Lobosky) Lemond, of 50 years; stepson, Orville Le- mond; brothers, Oscar, Pete, Ed and Robert Lemond; and one sister, Melba Montgom- ery. Private family funeral ser- vices were at 2 p.m. EST on Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at Nass and Sons Funeral Home in Huntingburg, with Rev. Roy Stilwell officiating. She was born on May 18, 1932, in Oakland City, to Ross M. and Jesse Adell (Helsley) Williams. On May 30, 1957, she married Jimmie L. Jones in Winslow. They were mar- ried for 58 years before his passing on January 1, 2016. She was known for the love of her family and her kind- ness to friends, as well as ac- quaintances. She loved family get-togethers, cooking for her grandchildren and spending unlimited time with her hus- band. The highlight of her days was time spent spoil- ing the four grandsons, Trev- or, Travis, Robby and Ryan, without hesitation. Watching them, loving them and wor- rying endlessly about them were her favorite hobbies. Surviving are two daugh- ters, Tammy Jones, of East Alton, Ill., and Tracey Sum- mers, of Bethalto, Ill.; grand- sons, Trevor (Casse) Shaw, Travis (Misty) Shaw, Robby Lowrance and Ryan (Karis- sa) Lowrance; great-grand- children, Jaeda and Mason Shaw, Weston and Ty Re- naud, Tatum and Kitty Shaw, and Kyleigh ( Johnson) and Emersyn (Eme Lou) Low- rance; brothers, Robert (Dar- lene) Williams, of Royal Cen- ter, Ind., and Alfred (Allen Duhe) Williams, of New Ibe- ria, La.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; sisters, Aline Poehlein and Geraldine ( Jerry) Smith; twin brother, Loyce Williams; and son-in-law, Bud Summers. ORIL "CHAD" DENT Oril "Chad" Dent, 73, of Mount Carmel, Ill., passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, sur- rounded by the love of his family. He was born on August 16, 1947, in Mount Carmel, Ill., the son of Oril W. and Mary (Brock) Dent. He married Sheila Harms on May 18, 1974, and together they enjoyed 46 years of marriage. He was a loving husband, fa- ther and grandfather who trea- sured time with his family. He faithfully served his country in the United States Air Force. He loved attending games at the "Snakepit" and cheering on the MCHS football team. He also enjoyed following the Pike Central Chargers foot- ball team, where his grand- son, Jagar, played. He was a hard worker and loved his job with Bates Brothers Farms as a truck driver. He was a mem- ber of Pentecostal Faith As- sembly. He was always the life of any party, laughing and he loved to have a good time with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He will be lovingly remem- bered by his wife, Sheila Dent; two sons, Dustin (Shannon Sander) Dent, of Jasper, and Glen Eliptico, of Denver, Co- lo.; two daughters, Mysti (Da- vid) Marsh, of Bicknell, and Holly ( Jason) Smith, of Peters- burg; ten grandchildren, Da- kota Dent, Lexee Dent, Jagar Dent, Austin Skelton, Jena Pauw, John Pauw IV, Denna Pauw, Chelsie Lester, Caleb Lester and Connor Lester; two brothers, Lawrence Dent and Greg Dent; two sisters, Lo- retta (Henry) Miley and Bo- nita (Randy) Smith; and ma- ny loved cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Di- ane Dent. A private family visitation and funeral service was on Monday, January 4, 2020, in the Chapel of Keepes Funeral Home, with full Military Hon- ors. PATRICIA MAE (THARP) CR AIG It was a blessed day in heav- en when God called Patricia Mae (Tharp) Craig home on December 31, 2020. Born on August 7, 1944, to Floyd James "Doc" and Laura Tharp, Patty grew up near Mt. Olympus, with her four sisters, Joann, Mary, Amelia and Ruth, and her two brothers, James Donel and Dean. She graduated from Mt. Olympus High School in 1963. In 1966, she married Ed Craig, Jr., of Princeton. Ed and Pat- ty resided in Princeton and raised two children, Laura Elaine and Edward Ray III. She enjoyed working in her garden and she always looked forward to putting up corn ev- ery summer. She, above all, loved spend- ing time with her family and friends. She and her sisters wove many baskets togeth- er, played cards and enjoyed spending time together. She served as an officer of the Mt. Olympus Alumni Association and truly enjoyed putting on the Annual Alumni Dinner. She was a member of Patoka United Methodist Church and was a faithful servant of God. She loved volunteering her time at church by serving on the Administrative Council, acting as sanctuary steward, making apple butter and serv- ing dinners. She enjoyed at- tending special events at Gen- tle Shepherd Church of God in Oatsville. She was love and showed love to everyone around her. She loved to read, write and, most of all, spend time with her grandchildren, who called her Mamaw. The joy brought into her life by Abby, Ben, Ed- die IV, Maddie, Lydon and Ja- da could not be matched. She loved life with everything she had, was always quick to offer a helping hand and gave all glo- ry to God. There will never be another like her and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her. To God be the glo- ry for a life so beautifully lived. She is survived by her hus- band, Ed Craig, Jr.; children, Laura (Chris) Heidenreich and Edward Ray Craig III (Andrea Dotson); grandchil- dren, Abby and Ben Heiden- reich, Eddie IV and Maddie Craig, Lydon Dotson, and Jada Graves; sister, Mary (Tharp) Case; brother, James Donel (Peggy) Tharp; sister-in-law, Judy ( Wolfe) Tharp; special friends, Janice (Riney) Hunn and Julie (Enlow) Craig; and many more nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Waiting with open arms in Heaven are Patty's sisters, Joann ( Wheeler) Dunning, Amelia (Tharp) Adams and Ruth (Tharp) Hall; brother, Dean Tharp; parents, Floyd James "Doc" and Laura Tharp; and many special friends. A celebration of life will be held by the family later in 2021. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Janu- ary 6, 2021, at Columbia White Church Cemetery in Prince- ton, with Rev. Robertson, 70, of Washington, passed away at 11:46 a.m. Saturday, Janu- ary 2, 2021, at her residence. She was born May 30, 1950, in Washington, to Thomas and Norma (Eskew) Walker. She worked as a sewer for NASCO Industries until her retirement. She enjoyed work- ing puzzles and loved being around her family, especially her grandchildren. Surviving are her children, Michelle (Donald) Gladish, of Winslow, Tabatha Apple, of Tennessee, and Penny Robert- son, of Indianapolis; her sib- lings, Jean Truelove, of Wash- ington, Candy Milligan, of Washington, Debbie Ramsey, of Florida, David Ramsey, of Illinois, and Jubal Ramsey, of Kentucky; eight grandchil- dren; and six great-grand- children. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Walk- er and Norma Ramsey; her husband, Stanley Robert- son, whom she married June 3, 1968 and preceded her on June 17, 1987; and a sister, Sha- ron Raymond. "SONNY" BARRET T, JR. Ira H. "Sonny" Barrett, Jr., 65, of Spurgeon, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 31, 2020, at his res- idence, with his family along his side. He was born July 29, 1955, in Huntingburg, to Ira Harrell Barrett, Sr. and Bessie Alma Dyson Barrett. He graduated from Winslow High School in 1973 and was a graduate of Oakland City College. He worked in the coal mines in the coal lab at Old Ben Coal for 20 years and loved his job. He loved his family dearly and loved to help people. He loved go- ing camping in the camper with his family, fishing with the children and cooking de- licious meals over the camp- fire was his specialty. He was a member of the Muren Church of God in Winslow. He was a dedicated Christian in his church and loved to watch Jim- my Swaggart. He believed in doing things right and he al- ways was dedicated at every- thing he did in life. He also loved his country. Those left to cherish his memories include the love of life of 44 years, Sandra Kay Krohn Barrett; three sons, Travis Nathan Barrett, and his wife, Linda, Trevin O'Neal Barrett, and his girlfriend, Jes- sica, and Brandon Ray Dick- son, and his wife, Renee; six grandchildren, Hunter Bar- rett, Hannah Barrett, Kaylee Mann, Doyle Barrett, Storm- ie Barrett and Maverick Bar- rett; one great-granddaugh- ter, Wynn Barrett; two sis- ters, Daisy Barrett Garrison, and her husband, Bill, and Linda Barrett Atkins, and her husband, Larry; brothers-in- law.
