This week, we celebrate Thanksgiving. 2020 has been a very difficult year for so many people, but God's word tells us to "Rejoice al- ways, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus" (I Thessalo- nians 5:15 -17). Our celebrations may be different this year, but as be- lievers, we have the peace of God dwelling in our hearts and may we continually have the spirit of thanksgiving for what the Lord has done for us each and every day. Mark Wade,Deacon FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH 1400 E. Main Street Petersburg 812-354-6775 Who do you follow? What do you commit your life to? Is it Je- sus? This is an important and necessary question. For many of us the gut reaction is to say, of course I follow Jesus. This is the question Mark intends for you answer when reading his gospel account. More im- portantly, this is the question we all must answer in our life- time. Who will we follow and who will we entrust our lives to? "Who do you say that I am," Jesus asks? This might be a question you answered in Sun- day school, or after a sermon one Sunday. You might have been convicted and answered that question one evening af- ter a revival. But I believe, our truest answer to that ques- tion is found in our daily hab- its and expressed in our walk with Christ. Are there aspects of your life that have become more noticeable during this season that are not proclaim- ing Jesus? There is no better time to ask these questions in our hearts and commit to fol- lowing Jesus and his vision for our lives and our churches. DJ Bryant, Pastor VINCENT CHRISTIAN CHURCH 8264 E. State Rd. 56 Sunday morning worship and the Lord's supper at 9:30 a.m.; Sunday school at 10 :30 a.m.; evening worship at 6:30 p.m. This Sunday evening, we will watch a DVD. We will meet in accordance to so- cial distancing and with face masks. You are invited to wor- ship with us. Doing Good "Do not wait for extraor- dinary circumstances to do good actions; try to use ordi- nary situations." The Apostle Paul said, "And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith" (Ga- latians 6:9 -10). Because He lives. "Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with Thanksgiving"(Colos- sians 4:2). Before we start our day, try to give thanks to God for the breath He has breathed into us. Make things like prayer and studying your Bible an everyday thing, just like three meals a day are a way of life, so these things should be. Giving thanks to God on- ly one day a year in Novem- ber isn't what He wants. He wants us to remember Him and give thanks for His loving kindness and grace everyday that we live. Everything is his anyway, He is just letting us borrow it. So give praise and glory, and thanks to the most high in Heaven, for He is good to us.
