Braxton Maxey participated in American Educa- tion Week virtually and dressed as his favorite book character, the Grinch from "How the Grinch Stole Christmas." Braxton is a fifth grader in Mrs. Love- less' class. Mrs. Adams' fourth grade students, Jonathan Traylor and Maddox Loveless, read to first grade students Emery Huston and Noah Riger. Mrs. Adams' fourth grade student, Quintin Query, reads to first grader Paxton Melhiser for American Education Week. Petersburg Elemen- tary had American Ed- ucation last week and staff Liz Jansen dressed up as "Cat In the Hat." Petersburg Elementary participated in American Education week. The theme was "the More you Read, the More you'll Know." There was a dress up day from your favorite book character. Avery Vinson, from Mrs. Beck's class, dressed up as Marco in the book "To Think I Saw It On Mulber- ry Street" for American Education Week. Winslow Elementary Austin Smith shows off his self portrait he made to hang in the hall. Each student has one hanging in the school hallways holding hands. American Education Week's theme this year is "We're All In This Together." Christopher Ball made some emojis for the cafete- ria wall American Education Week decorations. Adan Sharp and Trinity Gross wear their tye-dye for American Education Week's Peace and Love Day. Mrs. Shedd's first graders were "Secret Agents of Kindness." Abi Truitt is working on her kindness craft. Addie Sams works on her kindness craft that will be secretly delivered to a staff mem- ber or student. The students painted kindness rocks to give to someone to make them smile. Fourth graders Ashley Cassitty, Troy Powers and Taylen Bailey hold up the rocks they made.
