He was born June 28, 1927, in Pike County to Foster and Francis (Knight) Willis. He proudly served in the Ar- my during World War II. He worked most of his life as a ma- chinist at Whirlpool. He is survived by his son, Steve (Delena) Willis; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a brother, Jack Willis. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Wil- lis; daughter, Pamela Halder- man; his parents; and three siblings. A private graveside ser- vice was held. Harris Funeral Home is entrusted with care. JOHN FREDERICK CROOKS John Frederick "Fred" Crooks, 94, of Oakland City, entered rest on Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2020, at RiverOaks Health Campus in Princeton. He was born on May 23, 1926, at Clay Bank, Ind., to Elvis and Mary U. (Fella) Crooks. He was retired from Amax Coal Company and was mem- ber of U.M.W.A. and Oakland City American Legion Post #256. He proudly served in the United Sates Navy. He is survived by his daugh- ter, Freddie Lynnette Roach, of Princeton; sons, Stephen Guy (Gina) Crooks, of Florida, Thomas Lee (Terry) Crooks, of Oakland City, Jeffery Eu- gene Crooks, of Spurgeon, Douglas Edward (Mary) Crooks, of Bloomington, and Kenneth Wayne Crooks, of Evansville; eight grandchil- dren; 19 great-grandchil- dren; four great-great-grand- children; and sisters, Max- ine Brown, of Paoli, and Bet- ty Cross, of Ft. Worth, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Elvis "Gene" Crooks, in 2005; and his wife, Virginia Crooks, in 2018. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2020, at the Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Bryan Holzappel officiating. Burial followed at Blackfoot Cemetery near Coe. Lauderdale, 65, of Newburgh, passed away on November 6, 2020. He was born on May 6, 1955, to Myrtle (Satkamp) Lauderdale and Walter E. Lau- derdale. He grew up in Holland and attended Oakland City Univer- sity, where he earned a BA in Art Education. He held many jobs over the next eight years; working in a garden center, a bottling plant, as an art/ac- tivities instructor at nursing homes and teaching occasion- al non-credit courses at local universities. Around 1985, he was able to realize the dream of becoming an antique dealer. Over the next 30 -plus years, he had shops in Evansville and primarily in Newburgh. He closed the shop at the end of 2017. He is survived by his sis- ter, Linda (Randy) Cleek, of Evansville; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; maternal grandparents, John and Anna Satkamp; and paternal grand- parents, Millie and Elisha Lauderdale; as well as sever- al aunts, uncles and cousins. A brief graveside service was at 1 p.m. CST/2 p.m. EST on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Stendal, with Pastor Ed Wick officiating. His ashes were interred at the church. A Celebration of Life will be held in Newburgh at a lat- er date. Cremeans, 77, passed away on November 20, 2020, at Universal Healthcare in Fuquay-Varina, N.C. She was born May 22, 1943, in Huntington, W. Va. to Charles and Juanita (Bar- rett) Lucas. She married James R. Cremeans on June 30, 1961. She is survived by a daugh- ter, Tamera Roberts, of N.C.; a son, James (Cindy) Cremeans, of Petersburg; three grand- daughters, Ashton (Ryan) Av- ery, Brittney (Kyle) Watkins and Shania Cremeans; three grandsons, Auston White, Cody (Anna) Roberts and Sheldon (Selena) Kempf; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and three sisters, Phyllis Lucas, Cieva Smith and Yulanda Mc- Clure. Graveside services will be at a later date. DONALD "DON" HYNEMAN Donald "Don" Hyneman, 81, of Oakland City, passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2020, at Transcendent Health- care in Owensville. He was born on December 5, 1938, in Princeton, to Rus- sell and Marie Hyneman. He was a retired railroad worker. He enjoyed spending time at home with his "spe- cial" kitties and was especial- ly proud of his granddaughter, Meghan, who was honored to be able to take care of him at Transcendent. He is survived by three daughters, Stacy Russell and Shana Hyneman, both of Princeton, and Cathy (Mark) Fleming, of Patoka; five grand- children; five great-grand- children; and two sisters, Do- ris Glover, of Owensville, and Mary Lou Bechtler, of New Jersey. There will be no visitation at this time and a private fam- ily ceremony will be held at a later date. The family would like to ex- tend a grateful appreciation to all the employees at Transcen- dent who tirelessly took care of him up until his death. HELEN ROSALIE HENAGER Helen Rosalie (Bailey) Henager, of Petersburg, passed away on Sunday, No- vember 15, 2020. She was born January 14, 1930, in Pike County, to Jo- seph and Ida (McNeely) Bai- ley. Rosalie and James W. Henager were married on July 10, 1955. A fter 57 happy years together, he preceded her in death on January 14, 2013. She graduated from Spur- geon High School, Lock- year's Business College, Oak- land City College and Indiana State College. She taught elementary school for 20 years in the War- rick County School Corpora- tion. Prior to her teaching ca- reer, she did secretarial work at Prudential Insurance Com- pany, United Mine Workers Office and Southern Continen- tal Telephone Company. She was a lifetime member of Log Creek General Baptist Church. Surviving is her dear friend, Cassie Harker, of Petersburg, who has been her companion during her years at Amber Manor; her husband's cous- in and close friend, Sue Roth- well; sister-in-law, Joan Bailey; and many dear nieces, neph- ews and cousins. Besides her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents; and three broth- ers, Harold Bailey, James Bai- ley and Charles Bailey. Graveside services were at 11 a.m. on Friday, Novem- ber 20, 2020, at the Spurgeon Cemetery in Spurgeon. Burial followed the services. There was no public visi- tation. He was a retired U.S. Army Commanding Sergeant Ma- jor. He married Martha Fra- zier Green on May 16, 1953. and she survives. He is survived by his chil- dren, Cathy (Pat) Goad, Bill (Becky) Green, Jeff (Ash- ley) Green and Kelly Smith; grandchildren, Pat (Allison) York, Mike York, Nick (Lisa) Goad, Zach (Ashley) Goad, Abbey (Isaac) Wall, Tyler (Ana) Green, Wesley (Ash- ley) Green, Krista (Daniel) Wheeler, Kyle Russel, Jack- son Green, Hope Green and Faith Green; 23 great-grand- children; and brother, Alan (Martha) Bechtel. Dorothy was born on March 29, 1926, to Ira and Edna Full- er. She was one of eight chil- dren. One sister, Mildred Metzger, of Springfield, Mo., survives. She married Albert Lee Rund on Feb. 25, 1949. They were married 38 years until his death. Dorothy and Al had four children. Following the death of Al in 1988, Dorothy married James W. Gould, and he also preceded her in death. In 1965, she and her fami- ly came to Pike County as one of the first families employed at the new Indianapolis Power and Light plant. She was a dedicated moth- er and homemaker for her family. She played piano, en- joyed knitting, sewing and taking care of her family, and was one of the first people to become a resident of Assist- ed Living at Amber Manor, where she enjoyed going on the Country Cruises, playing bingo, and just being a part of the community there. While at Amber Manor, she enter- tained the residents by playing songs on the piano that were loved by all. She played piano for church services. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Petersburg, where she served as church pi- anist, attended Bible studies and sang in the choir. She was preceded in death by her son, Stan ( Julia) Rund, of Merrillville, Ind. She is survived by two daughters, Marjean (Ed- die) Willis, of Petersburg, and Lynita (Greg) Hood, of Lincoln, Neb.; a son, Leslie (Elaine) Rund, of Petersburg; Jeff (Ann) Gould, of Purcell- ville, Va.; Pam Gould, of Fred- ricksburg, Va.; Connie Gould, of Deerfield Beach, Fla.; and her grandchildren, Bry- an (Susie) Miley, Sheila Mi- ley ( Jason) Bjorkquist, Cur- tis (Kathy) Rund, Elisabeth (Mike) Rosales, Grace (Matt) Kellett, Adrienne Rund, Josh (Alexis) Hood, Stepha- nie (Luke) Hopken, Robert Woods, Richie (Sheryl) Wil- lis, Kristy Stone and Michelle ( Jeremy) Cundiff. JOY DARLENE UNDERHILL Joy Darlene (Hart) Under- hill, 78, passed away peace- fully November, 21, 2020, at home, surrounded by her fam- ily and best friend, whom she considered a sister. She was born August 16, 1942, in Chicago, Ill., to the late Alvin and Vivian (Bend- er) Hart. She graduated from Boon- ville High School in 1960 and obtained her cosmetology li- cense shortly after. She mar- ried Kermit Underhill, Ju- ly 3, 1961, and he preceded her in death. Joy and Kermit had five children. She was de- voted to her family, and en- joyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She es- pecially enjoyed her role lat- er in life, being "mom" to her great-grandson, Camdyn, and enjoyed attending all their special events. Surviving her are five children, Kim Willett, Ang- ie (Darrin Willis), Bud (Al- lison) Underhill, Elizabeth Ruth ( Jordan Rubinovitz) Un- derhill, and Bruce Underhill; grandchildren, Michael Wal- burn, Nathan Fair, Amber Big- ger, Brandon Walburn, Kysha Kolhouse, Chyanna Lemond, Sarah Green, Brittany Under- hill, Cassie Underhill, Wyatt Underhill, Tiffany Underhill, Chris Rubinovitz and Kate Rubinovitz ; her great-grand- children, Anthony Gonter- man, Austyn Walburn, Halli Fair, Kaleb Walburn, Jasmine Gonterman, Hanna Fair, Tyler Bigger, Westion Bigger, Ash- ley Walburn, Emma Walburn, Kaiden Walburn, Brayton Big- ger, Brooklyn Walburn, Jassa Kolhouse, Camdyn Kirby, Lil- lian Lemond, Braelynn Kirby, Riley Walburn, Brayden Kir- by, Willow Lemond, Koleson Bigger and Olive Shurn; her sisters and brother in heart, Sandy Smith, and Rose and Honesto (Ness) Fenol. LOUIS "DOUG" EISELE Louis "Doug" Eisele, 66, of Petersburg, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2020, at Select Specialty Hospital. He was born June 26, 1954, to the late Louis George and Mary Joan (Pauley) Eisele. He worked in maintenance at the Indianapolis Power and Light for 26 years, retiring in September 2007. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and gardening. He had many friends and will be missed. He is survived by his son, Nathan Eisele; two grandchil- dren; aunt, Jean Pauley; and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Douglas Joseph Eisele. A public visitation will be from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, No- vember 28, 2020, at Ziemer Fu- neral Home East Chapel, 800 S.
