She was born February 25, 1945 in Cleveland County to the late Theo and Hazel McCraw Bailey. She was preceded in death by her dedicated husband of 49 years, M. Barry Williams. She is survived by her son, Brian Williams of Cherryville; aunts, Jerene Landreth, Gaynell Bailey, and Nancy Curtis; brothers-in-law, Wallace Williams (Kathleen), and Frank Williams; and sis- ter-in-law, Iris Rowe. A celebration of Barbara's life was held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at First Baptist Church of Cherryville with Rev. Dr. Vince Hefner officiat- ing. BETTY DAVES NEILL Betty Daves Neill, 91, of Cherryville, NC, passed away on September 6, 2020. She was born to the late James Philector Daves and Myrtle Mae Newton Daves, September 5, 1929, in Shelby, North Carolina. Betty is survived by four children: Carroll Neill (Claudia), of Angel Fire NM, Jim Neill (Deborah), of Boiling Springs NC, Pete Neill (Myra L), of Cherryville NC, and Myra Neill (Clay), of Cherryville NC, five grandchildren, seven great- grandchildren; her brothers Franklin Daves, Bennett Daves; and sisters, Reba Beam, Linda Pow, and Sybil Bender. Betty was predeceased by her loving husband, John Peter Neill, Sr. in 2011, as well as her brothers, J.P. Daves, Billy Daves, Clyde Daves and her sister, Patsy Ruth Daves. She is survived by her loving husband, Ronnie Henderson; a son, Trent Henderson; a daughter, Laura Henderson; her father, Kenneth Flowers; a sister, Pam Denton (Larry), all of Shelby, NC; and a brother, Dwayne Church (Lee) of Hendersonville, NC. Born in Wayne County, MI on June 15, 1968, Robin was the daughter of the late Laura Church Flowers. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Jeff Flowers. SAMUEL DEAN WALTON Samuel Dean Walton, age 81 of Shelby, passed away Monday, September 7, 2020 at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby. He is survived by his daughter, Deanna Walton Bass of Shelby, NC; grand- children, Ashley Shrewsbury and husband David of Shelby, NC, Gary Beaver and wife Nicole of Shelby, NC, and Alex Summitt of Shelby, NC; three great grandchil- dren, Madison Shrewsbury, Landon Shrewsbury, and Brennen. Born February 19, 1939 in Cleveland County, Dean was the son of the late Sam and Sallie Wilson Walton and was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Fay Wood Walton, a daughter, Diane Summitt, three sisters, Mary Butler, Dolly Herndon, and Frances Cunningham, and a brother, Joe Walton. BOBBY GEORGE RAINES Bobby George Raines, 83, of Lawndale passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2020 at Atrium Health Shelby. Bobby was born on September 18, 1936. He was preceded in death by his par- ents, George W. Raines and Ruth Morris Raines. He was also preceded in death by his first wife Jeanette Sellers Raines.
