This message is brought to you by the Human Care Alliance. Stroke and Disability Learning Center To contact the Human Care Alliance, email hca@humancarealliance.org. By shopping in Santa Cruz, Watsonville, Corralitos, Aptos, Soquel, and the San Lorenzo Valley, you are supporting a local economy where elected officials are committed to reinvesting in community social services that address domestic violence, feed seniors, and give children early childhood education opportunities. +)&% !&*.$' +/%% +&*(.$ +,#-(*,"' No organization is too small to join The Human Care Alliance ("HCA"). We are often known for policy and budget equity campaigns but as the new Executive Director, I am seeing us strengthen our community in another way, peer support. Nonprofit workers are often wonderful caretakers who have trouble getting help for themselves. HCA is committed to bringing the nonprofit community together under one roof (or one computer screen as the case may be). By taking the time to check in with each other, ask for help and proactively share our talents, we hope to keep our beloved nonprofit Champions doing their best work and collectively being a beacon of hope for positive community transformation. We are a 501(c)(3) membership and privately funded organization made up of nonprofit organizations in Santa Cruz County. Our vision is to be a place where local Nonprofit leaders come together to create positive change for our community and for their organizations. We promote strong safe neighborhoods, economic and social justice and holistic health equity. Our mission is: to better educate the public, create more agreement in the community about health and human services, attract private and public funding to sustain consistent services, ensure effective and efficient services by promoting diversity and antidiscrimination for all, and increase public safety by enabling people to care for themselves. "As a new Executive Director in Santa Cruz County five years ago, I found the Human Care Alliance to be extremely beneficial to my professional development and work-place well-being. HCA members shared with me not only much needed camaraderie leaders require to thrive, but also diverse skills, perspectives, and wisdom from years of leadership experience that enabled me to navigate a new County system, network with amazing people, and effectively advocate for the community members my organization serves." -Julie Macecevic; Executive Director, Walnut Avenue Family & Women's Center- Whoever you are, if you think this could be a place that could help you or an organization you care about please contact me and tell me your story. Do not let a small budget get in the way of accessing help or the opportunity to have a seat at the table with other bright giving minds. -Leah Samuels; Executive Director, The Human Care Alliance.
