Second Harvest Food Bank Santa Cruz County postpones annual Santa Cruz Chefs' Dinner to 2021 Thank you Santa Cruz County for your past support of Second Harvest Food Bank's annual Santa Cruz Chefs' Dinner! This year, due to COVID-19, we are postponing this event until 2021. The annual Santa Cruz Chefs' Dinner, which includes a six course, gourmet meal paired with fine local wines, and featuring an extensive silent and live auction, would have been in its 20th year this year. This event provides critical funding for our award- winning Food For Children Program which provides healthy food to children and their families throughout Santa Cruz County all year long. We cannot postpone hunger! Since we cannot postpone hunger, we are hosting a virtual event "Fueling Their Future" a benefit for Food For Children, to fill the void caused by the Chefs' Dinner postponement. Partnering with us for this event are Sequoia Wealth Advisors, E & S Trucking, Driscoll's and Bank of America. We are so grateful for their ongoing support of this critical program. It's a perfect opportunity to bid on some wonderful items and experiences while benefitting the Food For Children program and directly making an impact in our community. Proceeds will be doubled! Habitat For Humanity – What We've Been Up To Habitat for Humanity Monterey Bay brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope. We envision a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Over the past 30 years, Habitat Monterey Bay has built 55 homes with the assistance of more than 5,000 volunteers, 75,000 hours of labor, and over $500,000 per year in materials and monetary donations. Our corporate and non-profit partners share our dedication to this community through grants, gifts, loans, and outreach. We could not provide affordable homes to deserving families in Santa Cruz and Monterey Counties without their support. We recently wrapped up a 7-home Los Esteros Court project in the Live Oak neighborhood of Santa Cruz, which included our first fully-ADA-compliant single family home, and our first Veteran Build. This month, we begin work on Rodeo Creek Court, 11 new homes, also in the Live Oak neighborhood of Santa Cruz.
