Purdue seeking input on cover crops, conservation The Purdue University Department of Forestry and Natural Resources is seek- ing input regarding the use of cover crops and conserva- tion program funding. The department values learning about your experience with cover crops, both the suc- cesses and challenges, and they are trying to under- stand if money spent to pro- mote cover crops leads to long-term use. The depart- ment wants to understand the producers' thoughts about cover crops and deci- sion to continue or discon- tinue using them after cov- er crop payments end. The Department of For- estry and Natural Resourc- es is scheduling phone in- terviews. To participate in this study, call or text re- search associate Michelle Hemler at 765 -771-0100 or you may fill out a five-ques- tion survey at https://ti- nyurl.com/covercrops2020 and the department will con- tact you. Your input will help the department understand the role of these programs in supporting long-term cov- er crop use and will help in making these programs bet- ter suited to you and other farmers' needs.
