Dozens of party goers had a good time celebrating Halloween and enjoying an evening of ka- raoke by First Response at VFW Post 3587. Debby Pasley photo a guide from the school there to help them find where they are sup- posed to go. But their guide just came onto the bus and stamped all the kids hands so they could get in and then left. Instead of having more than an hour to work on their adjust- ments to the non-march- ing performance, they only had about 20 min- utes to prepare. Still, they turned in their highest scored performance of the year and consider their 13th place in Indiana a big success. "We want to thank the community for their support. Several busi- ness had signs wishing us good luck. Several parents in the band pro- gram helped out tremen- dously. Without their support, we wouldn't have been as success- ful. Want to express our sincere thanks for all the work the commu- nity and parents did all season long," said Ash- worth. Pike Central's Marching Band placed 13th in the Indiana State School Music As- sociation's Scho- lastic competition state finals on Sat- urday. Above they perform their show Bend at a recent football game. Below: On Sat- urday afternoon, they were given a fire and police es- cort down Main St. Petersburg for making it to the state finals.
