VA Urgent Care now available in Jasper ZipMed Urgent Care (formerly Medical of Du- bois) in Jasper is proud to announce that it has been qualified by the Veterans Administration as the first local facility to provide ur- gent care services to our ar- ea veterans. Veterans with non-life threatening health needs may be seen and treated at the ZipMed Ur- gent Care location in Jas- per at any time without an appointment and without copay, seven days a week. This new benefit for veterans is pursuant to the MISSION act passed in June, which creates a partnership between the VA and participating pri- vate clinics. ZipMed Ur- gent Care is proud to lo- cally lead this revolution in care for our veterans, as those needing urgent care no longer need to make a lengthy drive to a region- al VA medical clinic and no longer need to make an appointment or have a long wait to get the care they deserve. Located at 695 Third Avenue in Jas- per, ZipMed Urgent Care is currently the only VA- approved urgent care in a 30 -mile radius. Dr. Thomas Field and his staff at ZipMed Urgent Care have been serving the urgent care needs of Southern Indiana for more than 20 years with the fa- miliar slogan "Get in, get out, get well! " The Loo- gootee location of ZipMed Urgent Care (formerly Ur- gent Care of Martin Coun- ty) will likely also be par- ticipating in the VA pro- gram in the near future, but its participation re- mains pending as of the time of this release. Mike and Jill Wininger family honored as 2019 Adoptive Family Mike and Jill Wininger family are honored at The Annual Right to Life Ban- quet Thursday evening at the Simon J. Graber Build- ing. The Wininger Family was honored at the Right to Life Banquet as the 2019 Adop- tive Family as they have ad- opted two children in the last several years. Speak- ing on behalf of the family, Jill spoke of how she always wanted to adopt children af- ter having children of their own. But that was not going to be possible, so they began the process of preparing for adoption. Jill told of the ex- citement of receiving calls telling them their prayers had been answered as they were about to become par- ents. She said they were al- ways pro-life, but this has made them even more at- tentive to the fact that all young mothers should be encouraged to choose life over abortion. She praised the work of the Right to Life organization and the Preg- nancy Care Center for their work in the trying to end abortion and for the care of mothers in unplanned preg- nancies.
