Flooding continues along Patoka and White Rivers Flooding continues in the area. Heavy rains caused the White River to rise to a crest of 23.6 feet on April 27. The White River has stayed above flood stage since, and is projected to stay above 22 feet un- til May 4. It is predicted to drop quickly and fall below flood stage of 16 feet at Petersburg on May 6. However, rainfall is predicted for every day beginning Wednesday until Saturday. Area farmers are starting to worry about the rain, but most said it is still early and there is time to dry out. Above, water covers the White River bottoms farm ground. To the left is water rushing over CR250W, north of Highway 56 about two miles west of Petersburg.
