CHARLES DEAN OGLE Mr. Charles Dean Ogle, age 80, passed away on April 9, 2019. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Childers Ogle; three children, Tonnie Pruett and husband, Brian of Shelby, NC, Tammy Mullinax and husband, Johnny, and Ricky Ogle and wife, Lori both of Blacksburg, SC; a sister, Elizabeth Parker of Shelby, NC, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Mr. Ogle was born to the late Richard and Emma Jones Ogle and was preced- ed in death by a son, David Lamont Ogle; five brothers, Wylie Ogle, Beauford Ogle, James Ogle, Bobby Ogle, Jackie Ogle; and three sis- ters, Francis Davis, Carol Costner, and Alice Ogle. Funeral services were held at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel. A private burial will be held later. MARION LAVONNE BLACK Ms. Marion Lavonne Black, age 65, of Forest City, NC, passed away on April 7, 2019. She was the daughter of the late Sherman Marion and Peggy Cook Childers. Ms. Black is survived three sons, Don Arthurs of Grover, NC, Sonny Morrison of Columbia, SC and Larry Campbell of Aiken, SC; four brothers, Wynn Childers of Kings Mountain, NC, Bruce Childers of Lincolnton, NC, Steve Childers of Cherryville, NC and Wyman Childers of Palmyra, IN; and one sis- ter, Wynona Phillips of Kings Mountain, NC. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Rodney Childers and two infants. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. The Gore Family of White Columns is serving the fam- ily. and Mark Taylor and wife, Katrina, of Charleston, SC; four grandchildren; and a sis- ter, Gail Smith of Shelby. Funeral services were held at Patterson Springs Baptist Church. Interment followed in the church cem- etery. She was the daughter of the late Wilbur and Ruth Towery Owens. In addi- tion to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Danny and Carroll Owens; and sister, Teresa. Ms. Date is survived by her daughters, Joyce Smith and husband, Billy, and Jaime Date; son, Jessie Date, all of Shelby; broth- ers, Mike Owens and wife, Barbara, Roger Owens and wife, Katherine, all of Earl, Gene Owens and wife, Cora of Shelby, and Dean Owens of Hickory; and five grand- children. Funeral services were held at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home. Burial followed in Faith Baptist Church Cemetery. EVELYN MCMAHAN TRANTHAM DALTON Ms. Evelyn McMahan Trantham Dalton, age 89, passed away on Monday, April 8, 2019. She was born to the late Wilk and Annie Mae Stiles McMahan. Ms. Dalton is survived by her two children, her baby boy, Gary Lee Trantham (Cora) and her daughter, Charlotte Trantham Roddy (Greg); twelve grandchil- dren; twenty nine great grandchildren; three sisters, Ruth Epley, Sallie Phillips, Lettie Hoglen; and one brother Charlie McMahan. She was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Trantham; her sister, Bessie White; and three broth- ers, Floyd McMahan, Carl McMahan and Wayne McMahan. Services were held at Crowe's Mortuary. Crowe's Mortuary is serv- ing the family. BETTY E. SHIRES Mrs. Betty E. Shires, age 86, of Forest City, NC, went home to be with the Lord on April 7, 2019. Betty was born to the late Carl Edwards and Effie Horne Edwards. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Bobby Wayne Wright; her second husband, Horace Shires; and by one brother, George Edwards. She is survived by her daughter, Joan Conner of Gaffney, SC; son, Ted Wright (Renee) of Hopewell, NC; eight grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchil- dren; and five great-great- grandchildren. A funeral service was held at Tanner's Grove United Methodist Church. Interment JERI DANIELLE SMITH Ms. Jeri Danielle Smith, age 28, of Smyrna, SC, passed away on April 6, 2019. She was the daughter of Keith and Peggy Mullinax Smith. In addition to her parents, she is survived by two daugh- ters, Macie Breanna and Jerilyn Elizabeth Twamley. LESTER BULLICK "SONNY" JONES Mr. Lester Bullick "Sonny" Jones, age 71, of Blacksburg, SC, passed away on April 6, 2019. He was the husband of Patricia Bolin Jones and the son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Elbert Jones. Surviving Mr. Jones are his wife; two sons, Joey and Ryan Jones; one daughter, Sherri Rapposelli; and one brother, Jimmy McDaniel. Funeral services were held at Gordon Mortuary Chapel. The Blacksburg location of Gordon Mortuary is serving the family. KATHY JOLLY TAYLOR Mrs. Kathy Jolly Taylor, age 68, of Patterson Springs, NC, passed away on April 6, 2019. She was the daughter of the late Vernon and Winola Jolly. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Brandon Lee Taylor; a broth- er, Jack Jolly; and a sister, Judy Fortson. Harrelson Funeral and Cremation Services is serving the family. THOMAS ROGER RABB, SR. Mr. Thomas Roger Rabb, Sr., age 71, of Forest City, NC, passed away on April 8, 2019. He was the son of the late Jim Rabb and Mildred Whisnant Rabb. Mr. Rabb served our country in the U.S. Air Force and served during the Vietnam War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Ruth Guffey, Hazel Abernathy, Diane Dunagan and two brothers, Charles Rabb and James Rabb. Mr. Rabb is survived by his wife, Beverly Humphries Rabb; son, Thomas Roger Rabb, Jr. and wife, Sharon of Forest City, NC; and two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie R. and Ruth Harris Thomas; and her husband, Ernest W. Arnold, Th.D. Mrs. Arnold is survived by two children, Cheyrl A. Daves and Ernest W. Arnold, Jr. MD (Cathy); and six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her older brothers, Joe B. Thomas (Katheryn), and Kelt L. Thomas (Dorothy); her twin brother, Charles R. Thomas (Mary Frances); and her beloved son-in-law, Kenneth R. Daves.
