Poplar Street, Petersburg Deadline: 5 p.m. on Monday PEACE of MIND Let our 130 years of experience aid you in your selection of a meaningful memorial. SCHUM MONUMENTS, INC. Dale, Indiana www.SchumMonuments.com 812-937-4921 Local Representative RONALD WOODS 812-789-2009 Thank You e family of John T. Feltner wishes to thank you for your sympathy and we appreciate your kind words. We especially want to thank the Pike County Sheriff 's Department, Pike County EMT, Harris Funeral Home and Pastor Lich. A special thank you to the third shi deputies who were on call that night. Your sincerity, and heartfelt condolences were more than any family could ask for. Jill Feltner, Shari (Tim) Vickers, Tonya (John) Cooper, Leslie (Mitch) Antley, Stephanie Austin, Vanessa (Steven) Landstrom, and Jeffrey Austin Pike County Voters, The last eight years as your Sheriff has gone by fast! I have been honored to serve as your elected Sheriff. As my term ends this year, I am proud to sup- port my Chief Deputy, Kent Johnson in his campaign for Pike County Sheriff. While serving in the Sheriff's Office for several years, Kent has gained expe- rience in every aspect of the Office of Sheriff and operations of the Jail. Chief Deputy Johnson has assisted in budget preparations, conducted Sheriff Sales, policy and procedure changes, jail inspections, courthouse security and day-to- day operations. The Office of Sheriff is responsible for nu - merous aspects of the criminal justice process and Kent is knowledgeable of those duties. Chief Deputy Johnson has the experience of being a supervisor and making important decisions daily. As a proud U.S. Navy Veteran, Kent was a Military Po- liceman and K-9 handler. This experience has served the Sheriff's Office and Pike County well by implementing our own successful K-9 program for the office. Understanding the need to be budget conscious, the K-9 program was creat- ed and will be sustained entirely through private donations. Kent cares about the youth of this county and has proven it by being committed to instructing the D.A.R.E program to our students. Chief Deputy Johnson has also been certified by the In- diana Sheriffs' Association by completing Sheriffs' School. The Indiana Sheriffs' Association has also appointed Kent to serve on the Legislative Committee to meet with legislators on key issues facing the Office of Sheriff. With all of his experience and qualifications, he would be able to take over the Office of Sheriff on day one. He is a professional person with the ethics and values needed for Sheriff. I want to take this opportunity to thank you for sup- porting me over the past eight years and ask for that contin- ued support by voting Kent Johnson for Sheriff!
