"For the two years I have coached at Pike Central, Kelsey has been among the most coachable," head coach Eric McCord said of Barrett, who also received honorable mention as a junior. "She al- ways listens to what I or any other coach has to say and she really thinks about what you say and does her best to put it into practice." "She was always asking questions about why her shots would curve this way or that way, and what she should have done in a given situation," Mc- Cord added. "She was a lot of fun to coach and have on the team. She will be missed." Vaughn – who, along with Lady Chargers sophomore Lauren Young, also ran cross country this fall – scored three goals and dished out three assists. "If a player is willing to ded- icate her time to two sports at the same time, you know she's going to give you everything she has at every game," Mc- Cord said. "That's exactly what Shelby did. She played the whole field for us by the end of the season, taking goal kicks and running down the field to immediately help the offense. You can't ask for more from a player. One top of all that, she had excellent ball control, setting up some of the best players we went up against to dive in on her, allowing her to make a great cut to get around them." Houchins – in her second season at Pike Central after transferring from Eu- rope, where she played club soccer – net- ted two goals and dished out two assists. "Morgan really rounded out our of- fense," McCord said. "She was great at setting up some really effective oppor- tunities for us. I still remember some of the crosses and passes she made. Mor- gan and Shelby had some of the best back- and-forth passes just moving the ball re- ally well. Morgan could also tell when we would need to play more defensively and she would readily offer up her position so she could go help out on defense." Named to the All-Conference Team were Denai Sicard of Forest Park; Lydia Genet of Heritage Hills; Maddie Maurer of Gibson Southern; Katie Rose of Gibson Southern; Kiersten Schuler of Heritage Hills; Maggie Rose of Gibson Southern, Claire Mehling of Forest Park; Carly Sa- belhaus of Heritage Hills; Morgan Toler of South Spencer; and Lauren Zirkelbach of North Posey. Madison Wathen of For- est Park and Lauren Caswell of Heritage Hills tied for All-PAC honors at goalie. Also receiving honorable mention were Kennedy Devine of North Posey; Lauren Jahn of Forest Park; Ken- lee Gehlhausen of Forest Park; Al- lison Roy of North Posey; Annelise Brown of North Posey; and McK- aylee Matthews of South Spencer. Jordan Beshears of North Posey and Kira Bevins of South Spen- cer received honorable mention at goalie. Heritage Hills finished first in the PAC, going 5 -0 while compil- ing a regular-season record of 13- 2-1. Forest Park was 4-1 in the PAC and 12-4 overall. Gibson Southern was 3-2 in the PAC and 7-6 over- all. North Posey was 2-3 in the PAC and 5 -10 -1 overall. Pike Cen- tral was 2-3 in the PAC and 4-9 -2 overall.
