Bret Abell, Jr., 88, of Evansville, passed away at 11:45 a.m. on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at Linda E. White Hospice House. He was born February 1, 1930, in Princeton, to the late Bret Abell, Sr. and Dia- mond (Pirkle) Abell Casey. He graduated from Winslow High School in 1948. He was employed in the accounting department at Swift Packing Company until they closed the Evansville operations. He then retired from Whirl- pool Corp. in 1995, after 30 years of service. He also worked at H&R Block for 25 years and shared his ac- counting expertise by serv- ing as a volunteer for A ARP Tax Services, donating his time to help senior citizens with tax preparation. His memberships in- cluded Bethany Chris- tian Church (Disciples of Christ), Evansville Masonic Lodge 64 for over 50 years, Scottish Rite, as well as Tri- State Woodcarvers. He was diligent with his physical exercise and was an active member at Bob's Gym for many years. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marilyn L. Abell; and sons, Gary W. Abell, of Tampa, Fla., and Gerry S. (Sophie) Abell, of Noblesville, Ind. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David Lynn Abell; and two infant broth- ers. Funeral services were at noon, Saturday, July 14, 2018, at Boone Funer- al Home East Chapel, with Reverend Kyle M. Hunter and Dr. Dan Lovell officiat- ing. Burial was in Centena- ry Cemetery. Visitation was from 10 a.m. until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home. Evansville Masonic Lodge 64 conducted a Ma- sonic Service at noon. HUNT June D. Hunt, 83, of Vin- cennes, passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at St. Vincent's Hospital in Evans- ville, with her family by her side. She was born in Otwell on July 1, 1935, to Steve and Ru- by Gray. She was first married to Neal Jones and togeth- er they had three children. She later married Bob Hunt, who preceded her in death. She held jobs with Frisch's Big Boy, Wesslemans Café, and later retired from Don's Cleaners. She also enjoyed reading books, magazines and three different newspa- pers. She was happiest cook- ing big meals for her en- tire family, whether it was for a holiday or just a Sun- day meal. She was a devot- ed mother, grandmother, great- grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She was an outgoing per- sonality, giving to whomev- er she met. She is survived by her three children, Randy (Mil- lie) Jones, of Loogootee, Bri- an Jones, of Vincennes, and Tami (Frankie) Meece, of Otwell; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Joan Grubb, of Pe- tersburg, and Lou Clem- ents, of Sarasota Fla.; and her brother, Ed "Butch" (Di- ane) Gray, of Petersburg, al- so survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Hunt; her parents; and her brother, Steve Gray. Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, Ju- ly 14, 2018, at 11 a.m. at the Duesterberg-Fredrick Fu- neral Home, with Rev. Dr. Georg Karl officiating. He was born to Philip and Linda Eads McCrary on January 29, 1969, in Hunt- ingburg. He loved working on old automobiles and de- tailing vehicles. He married his wife, Debbie McCrary, on June 3, 1994. Jody is survived by his wife, Debbie McCrary, of Winslow; daughters, Gretchen, Mabel, and Sa- die McCrary, of Winslow; parents, Philip and Linda McCrary; sister, Mindy (Nick) Kerstiens, of Celes- tine; aunts Joyce (Larry) Catt, Sue (Dewayne) Bailey, and Velma (David) South- wood; and several cousins. Services for Jody will take place at 4 p.m. EDT on Fri- day, July 20, at the Mt. Pis- gah General Baptist Church in Augusta. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time at the church and Pas- tor Jerry 'Tuffy" Blackwell will be officiating. Burial will take place at Cup Creek Cemetery.
