So many trials come into our lives and along with the business of life. These things can easily choke out the Life of God in us. But praise God, "But seek ye first the King- dom of God, and His right- eousness; and all these things will be added unto you" (Mat- thew 6:33). What things will be add- ed? God's order back into our lives—a peace that passes all understanding—He is in con- trol. Questions regarding church events, call 812-582- 8896. Mailing Address: P.O. Box 11, Petersburg, IN 47567. We can find three Biblical Principles in I Corinthians 4 (or three points on the rocks) to help us navigate through life. (1) The inner person is of more value than the outer person. God sees the heart; verse 16. (2) Eternal life is more im- portant than our temporal life; verses 17-18. 3) The un- seen is more important than the seen or visible; verse 19. We need to share with oth- ers that do not know Jesus. Upcoming activities and services: • Community soup sup- per, Thursday, Sept. 21 from 4:30 -6 p.m. Soups and des- serts will be served. Loved ones and great friends have departed from this life and we should begin to think about the in- evitable. One day our last breath will leave this body and the choices we made while alive determines where we will spend eterni- ty. Have you made the cor- rect choice so that heaven will be your home? Only you and God know that answer. Pray that it is the right one. Pray for your country, our president and government, your local government, our soldiers and all pastors. Re- member to pray for the sick and afflicted, and those in the nursing homes and hos- pitals. Be a friend to your neigh- bors, co-workers, any with whom that you come into contact. To have a friend, you need to be a friend. Je- sus said what you give out is what you will receive back. May you find peace and joy in your life this week. The Fall A man named Jack was walking along a steep cliff one day, when he accidental- ly got too close to the edge and fell. On the way down he grabbed a branch, which temporarily stopped his fall. He looked down and to his horror saw that the canyon fell straight down for more than a thousand feet. He couldn't hang onto the branch forever, and there was no way for him to climb up the steep wall of the cliff. So Jack began yelling for help, hoping that someone passing by would hear him and lower a rope. He was about to give up when he heard a voice. "Jack, Jack. Can you hear me? " "Yes, I can hear you. I'm down here." "I can see you, Jack. Are you all right? " "Yes, but who are you, and where are you? "I am the Lord, Jack. I'm everywhere." "The Lord? You mean, God? " "That's Me." "God, help me. I promise if you'll get me down from here, I'll stop sinning. I'll be a really good person. I'll serve You for the rest of my life." "Easy on the promises, Jack. Let's get you off from NEWS!
