RODOLFO MARTINEZ Photographer BETSY F. PERRY Writer Over the course of her career, Betsy F. Perry has worked with Michael Bloomberg, Rupert Murdoch, Helen Gurley Brown, and Michael Milken. She started at Harper's Bazaar, has had senior positions at Cosmopolitan and Premiere, and has been on both sides of the camera as a Fox producer, movie critic, and Star Magazine gossip columnist. She wrote this issue's Style story on Escada's 2017 resort collection (page 89). Behind the story: "When you sit home in your sweats writing, it's great fun to think about all the pretty clothes you're writing about. I especially loved the names of colors—Mimosa yellow and Melrose pink—that the designer came up with." Winter must-have: "Gorgeous over-the-knee suede boots, but I also love party dresses!" Dream interview: "Michelle Obama–after she's moved and settled into her new home." A Miami native, NYC- based photographer Rodolfo Martinez earned his bachelor's degree in photojournalism from the University of Miami and received his master's degree in journalism from Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Communication. He's worked with celebri- ties including Leonardo DiCaprio, Debbie Harry, and Eddie Redmayne, and his work has appeared in Paper, OOB, and W magazines. Behind the story: "A hailstorm took us by surprise while trying to shoot ["Forces of Nature ," page 124] on the chairlifts. I was one chair ahead of the models (who were dressed for photos—and not for a hail storm) when the clouds rolled in, we lost visibility, the wind picked up... Then hail about the size of ice cubes started hitting us across our heads. It wasn't a great experience going through it, but it was certainly the most laughed- about in the end."
